Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Chance.
Becky, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my Real Estate journey about 5 years ago. I fell into it by accident really. I had been a stay at home mom for several years and a friend sent me a job posting for a Real Estate assistant. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, I had spent 10 years in the Corporate world with Bank of America mortgage. I decided to give Real Estate a try and see what happened as an Assistant. Little did I know I would fall in love with Real Estate, become licensed, and use my background in mortgage to give me the advantage with clients and service providers.
In hindsight I realize that asking good questions was key to my success early on. I asked so many questions when I started and was very fortunate to have great mentors and Top Producers help guide me along the way. I joined Premier Properties Group with Keller Williams in August of 2019 as a Team Leader. Our group has tripled the size in just two years. I love surrounding myself with like minded, driven agents who have a passion to succeed and help others. In 2020 I was promoted to Director of Expansion with Premier Properties Group and was tasked with training, hiring, and expanding our business. The sky is the limit!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m a firm believer that Real Estate will give back to you what you put in. As an Agent, I figured out pretty quickly that I had to hustle and find the motivated clients. On the flip side, I had to work even harder to make sure that those clients knew who I was. Every day was a learning experience and had its own set of challenges. Ultimately, it took me making the decision that I was going to be All In. Once I decided to be All In, it created a mindset where a plan b was not something I would settle for. I learned that consistency, discipline, and embracing failure would fuel my path to success.
As a Team Leader, there were initial struggles on the concepts of how to be a good Leader that kept me up at night. Once I aligned myself with great leaders and coaches, I was able to learn how to create success thru the Agents on my team. And that for me was an eye-opening realization. I had success as an Agent, yes. But I learned bigger things when I became a Team Leader—I aspired to make a difference, which leads to being an impact TO Those around me. I love to support and motivate other people to succeed. I made mistakes but I learned something from each and every one of those mistakes. Obstacles and challenges will always come. But I choose to fall forward versus falling backward into the unknown. That’s what I teach. Real Estate is just the vehicle that I use to impact and lead.
I love the following quote. I share this with my team pretty consistently. It really resonates with me. “Ease is a greater threat to progress, than Hardship”- Denzel Washington
As you know, we’re big fans of Premier Properties Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our Real Estate team, Premier Properties Group is an Expansion team with Keller Williams. We currently have just under 50 agents and two locations- Rockwall and Dallas. We are very intentional about the growth of our Agents and the strength of our team. We absolutely want to be the best Real Estate team in the DFW area. Our agents are coached monthly, which promotes instant accountability, offers strategic collaboration, and enforces the team concept. We have staffed positions in our ecosystem that promote agent success. We have Listing Coordinators, Transaction Coordinators, Social Media and Marketing Director, an Inside Sales team that helps with our lead flow, a strong Leadership team, and a Team Lead that genuinely cares about the success of her agents and the strength of our brand. We have aligned ourselves with some of the best Service Partners around, and continue to look for ways to bring value to our clients. We enjoy the challenges that Real Estate can bring, and understand that the ability to adapt to different environments is key. We are better for ourselves and for the clients that trust us.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would be spending time with family at various events. My childhood was filled with music, going to Church, and being surrounded by family and friends- all the time. I loved hearing people tell stories. I loved hearing people laugh. I was very fortunate to have parents who worked very hard in their careers so that my sister and I could live our biggest lives. My parents were great examples of hard work and discipline.
