Exploring Life & Business with Jenny Baum of Camp Gladiator

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Baum.

Hi Jenny, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started with an annual trip to the Dr for a routine physical. Long story short the Dr told me if I didn’t put my health 1st, I was on the verge of being diabetic. (Not words I wanted to hear, but it was reality) I knew I needed to get my health in check and needed a change. I came across CG and was scared and nervous, but I knew this was where I needed to be. I signed up for a promo camp and Loved every second of it. I was so hesitant to go Bold so I kept putting it off until the last week of camp. I was scared of commitment…I began to think to myself Why did I sign up in the 1st place? Without any further hesitation, I contacted my main trainer Jonathan Johnson and said my health is so important to me and I am ready to take control of my health. I ended up being his very first Bold camper. He always told me just Trust the Process. I signed up for 6 months thinking that was good enough…. well, little did I know I fell in love and I craved CG more and more, I loved the endless amounts of friendships I have now, and honestly just how happy I truly am now inside and out!! I was a camper for 2 full years before becoming a CG Trainer. Self-love is way more important and that shouldn’t have a price tag. Went back to the dr and he said Wow you have taken my words and put them into action. At that point, I had become the healthiest I have been in Years. I lost 83lbs in 10 months and continued on and maintaining. I am human, I love Food and a good drink from time to time. Find an equal balance and stay consistent. Now I am currently a CG trainer and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I get to live out my dream and impact so many lives!!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Becoming a trainer has had its speed bumps along the way including starting up my own CG business. Again, you have to trust the process and have patience. You have to have a hustle mentality because nothing in this world is easy. Work hard for what you want. After being a trainer for roughly 6 months my appendix ruptured and knocked me out for 2 solid months. That was a huge wake-up call to Listen to your body. Another challenge I faced was a global pandemic. I run an outdoor fitness boot camp when the world shut down, so did that. Camp Gladiator helped us transition to all virtual and ended up being a blessing in disguise. Mentally Covid played a huge role in my life due to me being such a people person and being around people is what I love.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Camp Gladiator?
I am currently a franchise owner with Camp Gladiator. I get to impact lives for a living & help others learn to love who they are while working on becoming their best self. Camp Gladiator is a fitness platform for adults, so I set up in parking lots I have permission to be in and run a camp for my campers 1 hour at a time and deliver one hour of amazing to them. Fitness saved my life, & I believe a lot of my campers can relate to me. I am human, I make mistakes, & I allow that to help me grow as a Trainer. My campers know I am not superhuman, but what they do know is I am honest with them about everything. I am loyal & have a huge personality. I believe in having fun at my workouts, & we do just that. We work on form & challenge ourselves along the way. Brand wise I am most proud of finding Camp Gladiator when I did. I love the fact that I was once a camper for 2 years & another trainer Stephanie Ridder saw something in me to become a personal trainer. CG has allowed me to always be myself and I thrive daily. I always tell people never to be intimidated to try it out, message me or a trainer and just start. Are we truly ever 100% ready to start something?! CG is life-changing and the community is like no other.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I would say I am Lucky in terms of having an amazing support system. My family and my friends always push me to be my best daily. I am lucky and blessed to have The best support system there is. Without my family & friends, I wouldn’t be where I am today & for that, I am extremely Blessed & lucky!!
