Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Andrews.
Hi Seth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My love for health and fitness started when I was young. At the age of 8, I started going to the gym in the apartments where I lived to lift weights. I just knew I wanted to be strong. As I got older, it was evident that I was naturally athletic, playing football, basketball, and running track. Fast forward to adulthood, I was in my thirties and found that my body wasn’t quite what I wanted. In addition, I have children to be active for. It is important to me to be here for them and the generations to come while being healthy and fit with a long life. So, I started eating clean and going to the gym daily. Then, I started to study and get certified as a personal trainer. Later, I was encourage by a few friends and fitness competitors to compete. When I saw how much my body transformed, fitness became my passion and I haven’t looked back since.
Today, I’ve been fortunate to turn my passion into a thriving profession. Through working with a diverse group of clients – no matter the size, age, or disability, I’ve come to realize that everybody is unique, each with their own goals and lifestyle. I will construct a plan and training schedule according to your fitness experience and needs that will have you seeing results in no time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t a smooth road at all, my ambitions where greater than my clientele and I started off bigger than I should have. I immediately purchased equipment, quit my job, rented out a space for my gym without one client. I just thought people would come and join my boot camp at the time. Oh was I wrong! I’m showed up for 3 weeks with my sons to set up class for all my times to have not one person show up. I had rent to pay at my building and my home, funds were getting tight. I prayed and got a few clients and things were looking up. However, with two rents (home & building) I was still drowning. I prayed went to my pastor and my counselor at the time, and they both told me the same thing. First, asking me is this my company or God’s? I said mine, which was totally wrong. God gave me the vision and the ability to do all things so my company is God’s! Soon as I understood that, stepped back, and let God run His business things skyrocketed! I had so many clients, I was at the point of hiring other trainers. Hold on let’s step back. Before that happen, I closed my gym and moved it to Stovall Park. That was truly a game-changer. I’m out in the open and that brought more and more clients. Then the weather changed it got cold so I moved to the garage of my home. I was worried that no one would come. Oh boy was I wrong nothing changed and clients kept growing. LOOK AT GOD!!!!! I challenge you all to answer this question. When has God ever failed? NEVER, that’s why when I gave God His company He had to show out and do what He does and that is make miracles happen!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My company is Boom Camp Fitness I’m a personal trainer, that does this for the love of changing lives.
I specialize in all fitness needs and all levels.
What sets me apart from others is number 1 I do all things through God as He leads me. From what all my clients tell me that has had a personal trainer prior to me. They say they love how different I am from their other trainers by every day is a different day, but designed perfectly for their goals and ability. They love how I motivate them and encourage them to go past what they thought they were capable of and I’m always available for them even after hours. They love how they work harder than they ever have or anyone in the gym with us, we outwork them all. Lastly, they love the professionalism I go over and beyond their expectations.
I’m most proud of stepping out on faith and being successful for all the years I been doing this.
I want everyone to know that if you choose me, you can’t go wrong. I have the passion for success and that’s it! When you do something, you love the results are far more greater then results from a job that’s just a job. I’m not located in just one place I travel all of DFW. I have my own private gym in Arlington for those that don’t want to be in a gym with all the others or just want to be COVID safe. I also train at clients’ home (I bring all the equipment), or at apt. gym, or local park there are no limitations for me.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I plan to open another gym and have a team of trainers that train like me.
