Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Ross.
Candice, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been one to respect the sense of uniqueness in everything, like the detail in a garment, to the boldness of statement pieces, that uplift people and remind them of their worth – and of course, all things fashion! I’ve known for some time that I wanted to have my own boutique that would allow me to connect with women from all walks of life and talk fashion, but most of all sharing the things that make us feel amazing!
I had many setbacks and even considered giving up at one point. I was exhausted and depleted. I had to remind myself that I have the power to change the narrative of my life. I had to shake back and fight. Fight to gain strength, fight to gain courage, fight to love myself, fight to love others, and fight for what I knew I could have. My son Eric has been my constant reminder that I owe it to him – after all, my son gave me purpose and a reason to achieve greater things.
After finding some stability in my life and marrying my amazing husband Rashard, things were finally taking a turn for the better. I decided to get back on track with pursuing my passion of owning my boutique! I started by launching my online store and was very excited to take that first step! I cleaned out my closet and got rid of the items that did not match with my personality and style – I was so ready to build my image again!
I started investing in the items that I would need for the store, and the most exciting part…I began looking for a building. On June 23,2021, I found the start of my dream, the space where I am now creating HERFEM-Che City! Come check us out!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road. I knew I had some challenges that I would face as I continued the mission-but I always tell myself to be consistent and believe greater is coming.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think it takes more than one quality or characteristic vital to my success. For one, most importantly, faith and belief in God, organization, perseverance, and a great personality!
