Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Renee’ Henderson.
Hi Chelsea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Chelsea Renee’ Henderson and I am 24 years young. I was born in Springfield, Illinois, and immediately moved to Fort Worth, Texas where I was raised. Continuing my family’s legacy by becoming a self-made entrepreneur has been a goal of mine since I was young. I was specifically inclined to do so because of the range of possibilities it would provide me in career options. Furthermore, the limitless availability of time, wealth, and success I would be granted is unwavering. As it was instilled in me, I had always known that I’d acquire a higher education in the field of Business to advance the pace at which I would achieve my goals.
As a young entrepreneur, I have gained a considerable amount of knowledge and experience working in several of my family’s businesses. These businesses have included but are not limited to a tax office, a call center, and a customized apparel shop. Therefore, I have first-handedly witnessed the benefits and disadvantages of owning a diverse set of businesses. Having the opportunity to witness leaders in my family open and operate their very own businesses throughout my entire life has fueled me. This entrepreneurial mindset trickled down three generations, starting with my great grandmother and the legacy will live on through and past me.
I acquired my undergraduate degree in the University Studies Program with a concentration in Business and minors in both sociology and psychology. Recently, I acquired my master’s degree in Business from Texas A&M University. Throughout the years that I spent in college, I made the best of my time making memories and achieving goals such as becoming the CEO of both 36T Event Services & CrafTChels and joining the best sorority ever, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting, managing, and successfully operating not only one but two businesses while being a college student has definitely come with my fair share of struggles. One of my greatest struggles was starting my first business while obtaining my undergraduate degree. As a first-generation college student, I was not prepared for what college living – let alone living on my own – would be like. As if that wasn’t enough, I started my second business while obtaining my master’s degree. One of the struggles that I’ve actually been dealing with now is that the 360 booth is so big that it cannot fit in my car. This has been making traveling to my clients a little more difficult. At first, I was going to get a hitch put onto my car but even then, I wouldn’t have been able to tow it because of the limit on my car. So now, I have decided to buy myself a truck so that I will be able to travel far and wide for my client base. For me, being an entrepreneur is understanding and acknowledging the problems that you have within your business but also finding the solution to those problems. I typically try to just roll with the punches because failure is not an option. When life gives me lemons, I simply make lemonade.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel that my determination is most important to my success. Without determination, I wouldn’t have made it this far. Determination leads to success. Success, to me, is simply setting a goal and doing everything that you can to make sure that you achieve it. There are many different ways to measure success. I measure my own success by setting goals every day and making sure that I get up to complete them. One of the ways that I measure my success is by implementing an app called Todoist in my everyday life. In the app, I make a different to-do list every day and cross out every task that I complete. It makes me feel like I am spending my time wisely. The app keeps track of how many tasks I complete every day and awards me points. I like to reward myself every time that I gain 1000 points because I like celebrating small successes. That’s what really gets me going!
