Hi Diamond, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I never thought in a million years that this is what I’d be doing. It all started in 2015 when I attended Cosmetology at CPCC. I would always come to class with my makeup and hair done, being that I was in the beauty industry when someone asked what lipstick did I have on.
I proceeded with “Merlot”, which was a matte lipstick from my cosmetic line. Long story short, I passed out all my lip collection, that ranged from lip-glosses, liquid lipsticks, and matte lipsticks, to all my classmates. Days later I was getting feedback like, the moisture of the product is good, I love the smell, it’s very long-lasting, and it’s in competition with M.A.C.
I took all that positive feedback and went to the drawing board on how I can create more colors. Weeks later, I was getting requests to come out with specific colors for one’s skin tone, more so nudes and reds. It wasn’t until January 2018; my boyfriend and I attended Painting with a Twist when I had my ah hah moment.
From that day, I put together an idea that was later known as Lip N Pour. Since February 2018, we have created over thousands of lip colors, hosted a plethora of workshops and parties, and franchised our concept as being the first black-owned custom blend franchise.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been somewhat an ok road. When Covid hit, I slowed down due to the mandate of the governor. After a while, I think people were tired of staying home and wearing mask. After a month of being shut down, sales have skyrocketed, and I was back to being booked and busy!

Lip N Pour is a cosmetic studio that helps women experience the art of customizing their own unique lipstick and/or lip-gloss that is tailored to their complexion while creating memorable experiences as a sisterhood.
We create custom products such as lip gloss, lipstick, lip liners, foundations, and body butter.
What sets us apart from others and our proud brand moment is that we are the first black-owned custom blend franchise that not only creates lip products but also foundation and body products. We make sure that we have the highest quality of natural ingredients, delectable flavors, and proven unmatched experiences.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The characteristic that I feel is the most important to my success is patience. You can expect success to happen overnight. I’m due time all hard work pays off.
