Hidden Gems: Meet Jason Hendricks of Forgot or Knot

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Hendricks.

Hi Jason, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2018 I joined the Inlab at Hillsborough Community College Entrepreneurship Program. I struggled trying to find the perfect business model that was a great reflection of my upbeat personality. In January 2019, my professor realized how I was dropping the ball when it came to getting gifts and remembering all 11 brothers and sisters’ birthdays. I needed someone that I could text to run errands and bring the gifts to my family and friends, but I simply didn’t have enough time in the day to do so. I ended up starting the business and have enjoyed helping so many people remember and make their loved one’s special day.

In 2020 I realized that 78% of my customers were business owners and that my valet drivers had been helping business owners build stronger relationships with their clients, generating more referrals and increasing their retention. At that moment I knew it was time for expansion, so I expanded Forgot or Knot to Dallas, Texas to help people deliver gifts to their clients, prospects, and loved ones during the Global pandemic due to COVID-19.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has not been the most perfect, especially when it comes to obtaining brand awareness and getting people to trust a new brand… I believe that’s a problem that most small businesses face.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Forgot or Knot?
Forgot or Knot’s mission is to create a memorable gift experience that deepen customer’s relationships with their family, friends, and/or clients. Through our technology, customers video a personalized message that is included with a gift purchased by one of our shopping experts and hand delivered to the recipient. This experience is unique and memorable, making a lasting impression and deepening relationships both personal and professional.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing I have always been very outgoing and a joyful spirit to my friends and family.
