Hidden Gems: Meet Kaylin Nikole of Kaylin Nikole Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylin Nikole.

Hi Kaylin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. While on campus I always held the social media chair positions and was a member of Public Relations Student Society of America. After graduation, I worked in admissions but knew I wanted to use my social media background. So, I became the advisor for the social media organization on campus. From working in finance media to temp jobs I became defeated. Last year I finally started working on my brand Kaylin Nikole consulting & got a job in social media as a content specialist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all, like most industries they want years of experience but no one was willing to take a chance on me. I would cry going to my corporate job, praying to God to please allow me to have a remote social media job. Took some years but finally, here I am.

As far as my brand goes…HECK NO! Learning an industry that is constantly changing and shifting. Hoping people believed in my brand enough & believed in me to deliver quality content. Many nights even now I wonder am I doing enough.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Kaylin Nikole Consulting?
Kaylin Nikole Consulting, we’ll first it’s literally my name. It’s my first and middle so it’s very personal for me. I specialize in brand consulting, social media planning, and curation of content. I am known for my upbeat consistent content that’s trendy as well as relatable. What sets my brand apart, not to be corny but me. No one is Kaylin Nikole. Having the balance of educating those on social media and its tools while still being fun. I’m most proud of growth. I’ve only been in Dallas for a year and 8 months, so almost two years. The connections, resources, and the tools I’ve learned has been great. It’s just the beginning for sure.

I want people to know that Kaylin Nikole the brand and business will be respectfully known. I want more brown faces in the influencer, content creator, and consulting industry. I am one of two black individuals at my day job. There is no reason why more people of color (POC) cannot have a seat at the table. I want people to know I am certified in social media so I am not playing around. I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my work.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Whew it’s social media! What’s hot today probably will be old tomorrow. In 5-10 years, I see more social media platforms. It being integrated into everyday life even more. Maybe even something better than TikTok, possibly even more interactive, and definitely just more digital copies of already existing platforms.

Influencers ads will be more profitable than television ads. We will know influencer on the same level of celebrities.
