Hidden Gems: Meet Mirna Martinez of Classy Ink Signatures

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mirna Martinez.

Mirna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a 1st Salvadorian – American Latina woman in my family, meaning am the first in my whole family of 13 siblings to have been born here. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to break as many generational curses as I can. Growing up it was just me and my single mother, which made things extremely hard, especially at home it was never a stable home. We constantly lived with others and my mother worked a lot. This made my childhood not a very good one and exposed me to many horrific things a child should never experience. I ended up getting pregnant at 11 by an older man that was later arrested and deported. I had My son at 12 years old (Francisco A. Portillo) this is where I officially began to work hard. I was placed in foster care and my son was placed in open adoption without me knowing. It pretty much tore my whole world, later once I was placed under my mother’s care once again things did not get any better and I found that instead of coming home and getting raped it was best to live the street life which let me to getting pregnant at 14 years old. In the Latin world, this is something very normal and it is not frowned upon as it is here in the states my daughter’s father was in his mid 20’s and it was something my mother was okay with along with the rest of the family, I just saw it as a way out!!! Unfortunately, it was not and things just got worst. At this point having a child as a teenager, going to school and working was getting really hard and I decided to drop out. My own principle encourages me to do so as well. I finally decide to turn my life around at 18 years old. I didn’t want to be on food stamps or living in the hood the rest of my life, I didn’t want my daughter to grow up and see me as a failure or worst continue to grow up as I did. I worked hard got my own little studio apartment where it was just me and her (at least I knew she was safe). I ended up getting married and decided that I was going to go back to school which I did. I did 3 years of high school in one while working, having a newborn child, my 10-year-old daughter, and married. It was hard but I did it fast-forward we ended up buying a brand-new built 2019 4bed house out here in Fort Worth Tx away from my past and away from the hood. Where my girls can be raised in a new environment full of opportunities. Not only will that be provided to them but it was provided to us. We have a smoke shop “Xtreme Emotions” that was located in Dallas but now we are mainly online (were looking for a storefront out here in Fort Worth). This helps us meet a lot of business-like people and it also allowed us to join The United Lowrider Association in Dallas which does so much for the community. We have also opened our security company “National Special Force LLC” (which is a Woman own company) along with our security academy “Security Texas Academy” with my husband. But in 2021 I decided that I wanted to start my own company something that I have been dwelling on for years but first I needed to work on myself and deal with all past trauma and pain. I began going to go to counseling to work on my mental state, and I worked on me spiritually to come closer to God I thank my church “Victory Outreach Grand Prairie” for guiding me when I needed the most guidance, and I got a gastric sleeve and lost 80lbs up to date awesome team DR. Rivera has in Grapevine. I wanted to get healthier, I wanted to see in me what all these strangers kept seeing in me. Thankfully I can say I did it!!! I found myself and started loving myself I overcame so much. 2022 came along and I finally turned 30, I say finally because there was a point in my life that I honestly didn’t think I would see past 18. My world has changed and I feel so blessed to have officially established my Business “Classy Ink Signatures LLC”, a business that will allow me to work as a General Notary and a Notary Loan Signing Agent as well not only this but I hope to expand and become a Signing Service as well while guiding and teaching new Notaries. I always wanted to help teenage mothers, single mothers, or women that need help being independent and I believe that I can do that with my little business that soon I plan to grow little by little. I believe were all strong and we all have it in us to build empires even when others tell us we can’t. At the end of the day, they don’t have the vision that God has gave to us. We all have our own and it is up to us to apply it and make it happen. “Tu querer es tu poder – Meaning your want is your power”; God is amazing he has provided me with the family I have always wanted aka Los Martinez. He has blessed me with the ability to communicate and establish businesses and work hard. Not only this but he has allowed my past to encourage me to help others and acknowledge how strong I actually am!!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been hard because we had to figure out everything on our own such as credit business guidelines and finances. I think my whole life has been challenged since the age of 7 that I can remember. Somehow, I was never knocked down where I couldn’t get back up. Seems like God has been by my side since day 1.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Classy Ink Signatures LLC?
I have Goals!!! I have a goal to create an Empire that will help me be financially free and that I one day will be able to help other women in becoming 6 figure entrepreneurs. I am a Notary that is the easiest way to put what Classy Ink Signatures LLC is, but I do more than just General Notary work. I also am a Bilingual Notary Loan Signing Agent, and this is the part of my business that helps me get my foot in the door in the real estate world. I am the person you would need to call to have all your closing, refinance or any documents that might need notarization on a Loan Package. As I began my business, I have a mission to make sure I always provide classy service when doing notarizations, presentations, and networking. I want to make sure that all my clients are represented with the best. Eventually, all the women that I will have working for my company they will need to be trained and be properly given all the tools to be able to meet the expectation that my clients and I will have. I want to give a Godly Classy Woman Positive vibe. I know that with God’s guidance I will succeed!!!

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Ooohhh! I am definitely a Risk taker. I am an Aries, so we tend to always jump on things without thinking about what may happen. You can say that this is a blessing and a curse. Everything I have in my life up to this point it is because I have that mentality of If I want it, I’ll get it and if I fail it was never meant to be on to the next. Life is a risk on all aspects. I think I make it fun for my husband his the think it through type what would he do without me lol
