Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Felix.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Flowology was created after my own personal journey and struggle with mental health after a dear friend of mine was killed due to domestic violence. I spent years investing into myself (personal development, empowerment classes, psychology, metaphysics) while investigating what was happening to me internally.
All while balancing being a wife, motherhood, & entrepreneurship. It was through that process I saw the need for a space (complimentary to therapy) for individuals to come touch, smell, and ask questions about what self-mastery looks like for an underserved community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship has never been a smooth road for me. I think of myself as a captain of an airplane, there will always be turbulence. It is only in the challenging moments that I am able to discover how capable I am of making this vessel a success. The most challenging struggle was when we went through re-branding of the company. I had to start completely over with a new logo, concept and transitioning clients from one name to our current name.
We are a brick n mortar shop and had to close and sell inventory of the business and re-open within a week with new products and branding. It was INTENSE. When I tell you having an amazing team is the heart of having a successful business, we could not have done it without them!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Flowology is a mindfulness boutique, where we teach people how to create their intentional tools to help minimize stress and increase purposeful living. We pride ourselves on a unique experience where you are able to “create your own” intentional products in-store in our exclusive “Intentional bar” room.
Our mission is to create sacred space that fosters an environment for emotional healing and support for mental health through mindfulness tools and exercises.
After a brief consultation, the client is able to select a “create your own” experience which can consist of an intention candle, bath salt, herbal tea blend or custom oil. The candle bar encourages people to explore creativity along with a personal touch with the product they are using.
We also have over 15 local artisans from the DFW area that our BIPOC and Women-led business that create products that they sell in shop. We offer guided meditations, classes, and workshops monthly in shop.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would like to give gratitude to my husband, Jose! Thank you for always supporting me 1000%. Allowing me to just play, create and live in alignment with joy. I love you and I am forever your love!
I want to give credit to the whole Flow team and community members. Special shout-out to Tamisha, Tori, Sage, Ast, Tiffany, Tia, Collier, and moreeee! Y’all are the reason we exist.
Finally, I want to give credit to all of my mentors, especially Crystal, for my empowerment sessions. I want to thank Ashley for all of the marketing lessons and all of the mentors from Score. I’ve learned so many skills and tools that allowed me to build this business.
