Inspiring Conversations with Erin Lewis of BlackStorm Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Lewis.

Hi Erin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always valued freedom and self-expression. Then, during the pandemic, my local governmental organization sent everyone home to work, and that lit an initial spark for me. I was more productive, my blood pressure went down, and I even lost weight when my peers were gaining. It changed my life. And while I loved my work team, the work I was doing and the upper-level leadership was a different story. So, rather than languish in a position I didn’t love, I struck out on my own. I earned my MBA in 2001, my MS in Informatics in 2019 and worked in multiple industries, so I knew I could help small businesses; that’s what I set out to do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road at all! Learning to set up my own business was difficult, even with a coach. I had to examine what I really wanted to do and learn about the folks I wanted to serve, Intuitive business owners. There were so many modalities and paths to understand that I initially felt bewildered. But, getting to know the community much more closely led me to understand myself and my clients more deeply. Slowing myself down to develop a deeper connection with my clients and my new-found community has made all the difference in the world for me.

We’ve been impressed with BlackStorm Coaching, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in working with intuitive and creative entrepreneurs. I’m probably one of the few business coaches in DFW with advanced degrees in Business and Informatics who has her own art on her walls and also understands many of the basic principles of Metaphysics, including Astrology, Crystals, Human Design, and Numerology. I am most proud that I don’t water down my business education or the expectation that my clients learn and grow during our time together. I love their creative, balanced energies, but I know they are capable of more than they sometimes believe they can do.

Through my business, BlackStorm Coaching, I offer 1:1 coaching, workshops, and public speaking. I’ll also be implementing group coaching as well as digital courses later this year.

What do you think about luck?
Everything happens for a reason, but I believe luck is the intersection of preparation and opportunity. I have always been prepared through education and hard work so that when opportunities presented themselves, I am ready to move.
