We hear of domestic violence every day, but when people that you grew up with fall victim, it hits closer to home. 2019 was a wakeup call that I needed to do something. Equipping my community with self-defense tools was a calling in which I answered. For college students, single ladies, workers who get off late night, or simply anyone who needs protection, The Goody Box Self Defense LLC has what they need.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to stardom has definitely not been smooth. The greatest struggle along the way, I’d say, would be has been on the business side. From finding locations to setting up accounts, I’ve found that many companies are quite hesitant to back a business that involves weapons.

The Goody Box Self Defense LLC is a business/service that protects men and women from domestic violence and human trafficking. I specialize in selling discreet weapons for protection. What sets me apart from others are my products, which look like makeup, but you definitely don’t want to apply it. What I’m most proud of the fact that I am helping to save lives. For me, it doesn’t get any better than that.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The best advice I could give anyone would be to find a mentor before starting your business. Make them a part of your business plan so that you don’t jump in without as much knowledge as possible. Being open to correction has worked well for me.
