Inspiring Conversations with Tytiana Lynn of Tytiee B, Nailz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tytiana Lynn.

Hi Tytiana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a kid, I always knew that I wanted to become an entrepreneur. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to be but I knew I didn’t want to work for anyone else but myself. I graduated from UT Austin with a bachelors in Corporate Communication, wanting to become an event planner. Once I graduated, I got a job and took a course to become a certified wedding and event planner. However, for some reason I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I thought I would. About a three months passed, I randomly woke up and said I wanted to become a nail tech. I did some research and a couple weeks later I enrolled to become a licensed manicurist while still maintaining a full time job. I’ve been in the industry for a year and half now and I love it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life never has a smooth road. Like I mentioned before, I randomly wanted to become a nail tech so I initially planned on doing nails as a side hustle. However, I didn’t know my life would change just a few months later. I had lost my job due to COVID. I didn’t have no source of income. I turned to nails as being my full time job and haven’t looked back since. I’m not sure what God has planned for me but I’m here to accept it all.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tytiee B, Nailz?
I am a licensed manicurist located at Shear Diva Artistry in Downtown Dallas. I offer pedicure, manicure, and enhancement services. I am known for my creativity and bubbly personality. Every client that sits in my seat, I treat them as if it was myself. I want to ensure that my clients are happy when they’re leaving their appointment.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that Dallas has a lot of diversity which means there are more ways to network and meet different people. However, I dislike that there aren’t a lot of black owned business. We are so creative and talented, I just wish it could be recognized more and we actually support each other like we do other businesses.
