Life & Work with Ashlyn Harvey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlyn Harvey.

Hi Ashlyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my business a little over a month after I visited a spiritual store here in Dallas and purchased two crystal bracelets (Rose Quartz and Selenite). I loved my bracelets so much and after a couple of weeks of wearing them every day, it kind of just hit me how much they had impacted my life in such a short time. My relationships with everyone around me became stronger, my relationship with myself became stronger. I wanted to share this connection with others. I wanted to make my own bracelets. So, I did! I’m from a really small town in Louisiana and I always knew I had to leave. I didn’t know why or what I was going to do but I just consistently had this strong pull telling me I have a purpose that’s bigger than me, bigger than I could ever imagine, and I’ve never given up on finding exactly what that was!

My entire life I’ve felt an intense connection within myself and my intuition. I always knew I wanted to help others connect to themselves the way that I’m connected to myself. I’m 25 and it’s taken me until now to figure out how to do that. I went to college straight out of high school and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. I was a group and personal fitness trainer for nearly two years and that’s how I was helping others connect but deep down, I wanted to go deeper. There have been times I’ve questioned why I left the fitness industry, even after I started this business, but it recently hit me: fitness doesn’t equal self-love; Self-love equals fitness (taking care of your body). Self-love is the root of everything good. We have to love ourselves before anything and wearing my Rose Quartz bracelet every day reminds me of that! I make jewelry with powerful meaning, powerful reminders and ultimately these bracelets are tools to help others becomes their best self!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In March of 2020, aka when COVID-19 started a pandemic, I was seven months pregnant with my baby boy and that’s the last time I worked for someone. He’s nine months old now and I’m a stay-at-home mom, running my business. Sometimes I wonder if I’m doing the right thing, “am I doing enough?” “is my business going to provide what I need it to, to continue staying home with my son?” “do I even deserve to be in this position?” Our own minds can be our biggest enemy but, we have the ability to control our thoughts and ideally, control our reality. So, at the end of the day, I remind myself that this is everything I’ve prayed for my entire life: A stay-at-home mom running a business with meaning! Of course, I deserve it! It’s my right to have everything I desire and if you’re reading this, it’s your right too! If you’re not reading this, it’s still your right and I hope that you feel that! To answer this question, no, it hasn’t been a smooth road. There’s no path in this life, that’s going to be smooth, because we all have lessons to learn. It’s how we choose to perceive those lessons; It’s how we handle the struggles and I always chose to embrace them, even when I didn’t want to, because I knew that faith would bring me out on the other side.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I really do not like calling my “business” a “business.” I like to think of it as me sharing something important to the world. I am the owner of Celestial Jewelry Co. and I make hand-made crystal/stone bracelets, necklaces, anklets, and so much more! In the past, I would never describe myself as creative, but this has brought out a creative aspect inside of me and I couldn’t be happier to share it with others. The crystals and stones I choose to offer in my online shop are for a special reason. There are so many different ones, but I choose the ones I think are most important and the ones I think have the most impact and meaning.

I’m most proud of myself for not being scared to share something that I think the world needs. With everything, there is light and dark and I think the dark side of this world has tried to stray all of us away from who we truly are, take away our connection, dim our light, and make us fearful and scared of what others may think. I’m here to bring the light and tell you that you’re powerful and you have everything you could ever need within you. The world needs what you and I have to offer. That’s why we’re here in the first place! My jewelry is meant to be a reminder of that, it’s meant to remind you who you are! Each crystal/stone has its own meaning and waking up every day and wearing the bracelets with the right intention will change your life. What sets me apart from others is that my intentions are pure. I can’t speak for other people and I’m not here to boast myself, but I whole-heartedly want everyone to connect, I want everyone to heal, I want everyone to be the best version of themselves, I want everyone to live in abundance, I want everyone to feel like they are free.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
There is a spiritual awakening happening on our planet as we speak and I am over the moon thankful that I am here to witness it and be a part of it. I like to think of crystals as tools to guide us and remind us of our own power and I’m so glad I get to share these tools with others at this time and beyond.
