Carolina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m originally from Colombia, South America, but I’ve lived in the US for more than 20 years. I consider myself half and half. I came here with a bag full of dreams and I’m blessed to be living them every day! My hobbies, dreams and wishes became my full time job and business. I believe miracles do happen when you have faith and work hard. I’m a model for Kim Dawson Agency, a certified beauty advisor for Motives cosmetics, makeup professional, stylist, jewelry designer, and the most important a wife and mommy of 3 beautiful chicas. I wake up every day with the goal of empowering women to believe in themselves and never give up on their dreams.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My obstacles have made me stronger. They have helped me believe in myself. I truly believe that in order to succeed you need to work hard and persevere!
Please tell us about Flawlessbycaro.
I am a certified beauty advisor for Motives Cosmetics. My company, Market America, has been in the beauty industry for 26 years. We are a professional line that has safe ingredients that help your skin look natural and flawless. I customize foundation for women to match their skin perfectly! I take the time to teach each one of them how to take care of their skin and how to apply their makeup for a natural and flawless look. I also do hair and makeup for weddings and special events. I love to be a part of each lady’s special day and give them the best that I have to make them feel even more beautiful.
I’m a jewelry designer and owner of Caro’s Designs. Each design is handmade with pieces brought from my country. I mix my culture with my own personal style to create unique and one of a kind jewelry. Each piece is made with lots of love!
Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I don’t believe there are barriers! We are all born with amazing gifts and talents and it’s our job to develop and grow them! We, as women, should support one another. We should be a good example of our work! Strong women support each other.
