Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Zamora.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Elizabeth. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Established in August of 2016, my blog “tx elizabeth” was created out of a need to express my creativity outside of work hours. It was also a culmination of my passion for sharing stories, especially about travel whether it was local or international, and creating content from visuals to articles and more.
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas – which is a city that has grown so much, especially, in the past few years. I’m so glad that I took the initiative and time to develop my blog and brand because it has provided me with many incredible opportunities from connecting with other bloggers and influencers to working with local and national businesses/companies, but best of all I get to do what I love.
At the end of the day, I hope that my readers connect with my stories and not only walk away with something, but also feel inspired to explore a new location and try something new.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My 20s have definitely been a journey in itself. From graduating in 2012, from Southern Methodist University (SMU) to starting my career and exploring creative paths, such a blogging.
It’s hasn’t been easy, but I’m so grateful for all of the learning experiences I’ve had along the way. I’ve had to learn how to manage my time all while trying to balance work and personal life – although it can be a daily struggle at times.
Please tell us about tx elizabeth.
Behind the blog, I have worked in the public relations/communications/social media space for the past six years. It’s my bread and butter, which helps me a lot when it comes to my blog. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Fortune 500 companies from Super Bowl commercials to influencer campaigns and social media management.
I also spend time giving back to my community by volunteering at my alma mater, SMU, to raise donations for student scholarships. I just completed serving as the Chair for the Hispanic Alumni of SMU where we awarded $30,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. It’s important to me to give back, just as many others helped me throughout my life and I wouldn’t be here today without their help.
As for my blog, I plan to develop even more exciting content and explore video creation on YouTube, as well as, a few other special projects. Stay tuned for more!
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Being Mexican-American has really helped me in various aspects of my life. I grew up in both the U.S. and Mexico, so I fell in love with traveling and exploring new things at a young age. It has also helped me to adapt quickly to different types of people, situations, and change. I believe that these experiences have shaped me to be relatable to others and allow me to serve as a voice for many other women who have a similar background to mine or who are experiencing similar situations that I have overcome.
