Life and Work with Janet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janet.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Janet. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since I was little, I always interested in art, mainly painting and drawing. In middle school, I attended an oil painting class helped me to better knowledge about the chromatic circle to understand better how to combine colors, lines, shadows, and dimensions.

In 2009, I started Cosmetology School after I graduated, I started working in a beauty salon specialized in hair cutting, hair color, makeup, and updos.

In 2013, the television channel of Univision 23 invited me to demonstrate step by step how to apply makeup.
After that, I decided to be a Cosmetology Instructor and share my knowledge and passion for this career.

There a few careers that give you so much satisfaction and the power to create passion and love for the art.
This is not a job is the opportunity to express yourself and be yourself.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 years old from Mexico City. The challenges were and still are many, to start, I had to learn a new language, a new culture is like reborn again, I had a diversity of jobs. The important thing is that I never gave up, I always knew inside of me that I had to pursue my passion for art.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
My commitment is to enhance your natural beauty that so you can feel yourself.
I specialize in brides, prom, model, avant-garde and more.
The consultation whit my client is the most important thing is the moment where we can share ideas and visualize the result of the hairstyle and makeup as required by the occasion.
What sets me apart is that I design a personalized concept of makeup and hairstyle for each one of my clients, always with class & elegance.

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
My parents thought me “ if do you want something you have to work hard for it and do it well , if not do not do anything.

Today I understand those words if you want something first of all you must to have discipline, work hard and never give up.
