Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelvona Lincoln.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kelvona. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
My journey began six years ago. I never had plans to become a baker. It started out one day a family member and me joking around in the kitchen — the statement that she made about us becoming bakers stuck with me. At the time I was a Cosmetologist, and I didn’t like that profession at all. So a change sounded exciting to me. I stated that if we can do hair and nail art, how hard could decorating a cake be…Art is art, and I considered myself an Artist. That’s when I began watching YouTube videos and tutorials on Pinterest. I was so intrigued by this wonderful form of art that I wanted to take in all the knowledge that I could.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting out it was a very difficult and emotional journey. When you are learning something new you are going to make mistakes, that is a given. It is up to you to learn from those mistakes, push through that moment of frustration and not give up. Never stop learning about your craft, knowledge is everything.

I specialize in creating Custom Cakes and Treats. I am known for turning sweet cravings into beautiful creations. I am most proud of myself for not giving up during those difficult moments and most of all falling in love with my new form of art. I have created a certain style for myself, and I love teaching those who are willing to learn.

Who have you been inspired by?
I am inspired by the hard-working women in my family and the hard working women that surround me on a daily. I am also inspired by Cake Artists all over the world! Everyone is different in their own way and can express themselves in their own light. Anyone stuck on achieving their goals in life is an inspiration to me.
