Life & Work with Brenda Meloy and Tonya Parma

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Meloy and Tonya Parma. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Brenda and Tonya are excited to share the news of their social concept app, WAVE on the go, which drives customers to businesses under the pretext that a micro-portion of their tab will get donated to a nonprofit of their choice. We enable our partners to be monetarily impacted by the trend toward socially conscious spending while also infusing this ethos into their brand. We catalyze an impact process that is seamless, transparent, cost-effective, socially enabled, and customer-centered.

WAVE on the go is a community-driven app with a simple process – Enjoy, Impact, Repeat! Our app lets you impact your favorite causes and charities – at no cost to you – by simply having a great meal, enjoying the things you like to do, and socializing with friends. We are on a mission to amplify socially responsible spending between our app users and businesses by using technology as the connector to impact charities and the community. WAVE on the go allows charities to be monetarily impacted by the trend toward social consciousness and the growing customer loyalty toward socially responsible businesses. The WAVE on-the-go app presents an opportunity for all people and businesses to play a part in leading a WAVE of change!

Our combined passion begins with the belief that giving and helping others is an honor and a privilege, and our desire is to connect people and businesses with the same belief. We each have a history of running our respective small businesses and have spent a significant part of our lives supporting and volunteering with numerous charities and non-profits. We met over twenty years ago when a group of friends got together for monthly social gatherings, including the annual Christmas Tree decorating event at Children’s Medical Center. That was the beginning of something that would come full circle and spark the idea to come together as founders of WAVE on the go.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We were especially touched seeing how the community came together to support each other and help keep businesses alive during the pandemic. The innovation these businesses came up with to adapt and keep serving the community and the support that poured out from the community was incredibly inspiring. Technology played a big part in keeping the connection alive and reminding us that we are all still together even when physically apart. Everyone showed so much love, even in their time of need, by supporting and helping others. Raising awareness through word of mouth and social media during this time was essential. With our app, we want to keep that going, to keep the support strong. As a community, we are powerful and more vital than ever, and together we can accomplish great things.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
