Today we’d like to introduce you to The 5 Percent Podcast.
Hello The 5 Percent Podcast, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our podcast started off as an idea that we put off for years. Until one day we just got together and bought equipment and started to film ourselves on camera talking about all sorts of trending topics. We started our podcast on July 18, 2020 and it includes 5 podcast personalities, an engineer, and a producer/manager. We came up with our name by incorporating the 5 personalities and calling it The 5 percent podcast podcast. We film every Friday at 8:30 pm live on Facebook and YouTube. We have a goal of being a talk show one day so we are working hard to get to that goal. And one day you shall see us on tv as The 5 Percent Talk show!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. It’s hard bring 5 to 7 people together every Friday to do a podcast and be dedicated to the show not everyone sees the dream or believes in the dream and some have to see it to believe it. We experienced losing our first showrunner because they didn’t see the vision and having to do shows on the fly without topics. Also like all teams there’s disagreements that we have to overcome and talk about in order to keep the podcast afloat.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are as a podcasts that want to bring DFW together. We strive to bring different podcasts together and build the city up. What we are most proud of are our interviews we’ve done. Which includes interviewing an assistant principal at Forest Oak middle school, authors of books, and local artist. What sets us apart is our unique style of podcast. It’s 5 of us giving our opinions and information on things going on in the world which hasn’t been done before.
