Today we’d like to introduce you to Alayshia Lewis.
Alayshia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Alayshia but I’m known as Lay I’ve been doing makeup for almost two years. It’s been a hidden talent for years. But honestly, I’ve never thought I’ll be doing it today., I had no idea I would be into makeup or lashes extensions. Summer of 2017 would mark three years from the time I first started wanting to learn makeup my self. Remember You go through a lot of mood swings on rather you should keep pushing or if you should give up at times but I’m here to say keep going whatever you believe can happen especially with clients who support you as an artist Keep pushing and understand that not everyone will need your service. I sit back And think and look at how horrible my work looked and questioning why no one ever said lol well I guess that’s what got me here for my peers allowed me to move forward rather is looked bad or good.
Coming from one state to another may not sound hard to you. As I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma and residing in Texas but I can promise you it isn’t easy as building new clients is a must. Pushing myself to do better should show a lot about myself.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not a smooth road at al, Putting money into your products knowing what may work for this client and maybe not that one, time is very hard especially carrying a full-time job as well as pushing for something you love, your peer support as you may not always have those who like your work. Still, you have to keep pushing in what you believe in. It can all just become a bit stressful. But you also go through a lot of pros and cons to doing makeup, especially having a busy time and sometimes work isn’t so busy. Keep pushing and understand that not everyone will want to book services. I Remember me buying bulks of make up like I knew what I was doing and all reality I didn’t, but it didn’t take me long to catch on. Getting feedback from my clients is a big deal, as I love to be able to correct my mistakes.

I would probably say I specialize in dramatic looks and eyes. I take ambition in making sure the eyes are bold colored and lashes are flawless!! Amazing contouring, popping highlights. 💕✨
What were you like growing up?
Hard to believe me but I was shy throughout my whole life and still is. Growing up I was a risk taker rather I knew it was a bad thing to do or a good thing I had to live situations so I can know how it felt and I’m still the same way till this day I was outgoing, friendly most definitely would say I am a people person. Sometimes I was feisty but loving sometimes I cracked myself up but I’m a loveable person, I’m that person you can talk to within seconds of knowing me because I was laid back and chill.
