Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Zarac.
Alex, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was in a business class at Collin College and was instructed to create a plausible business as a project. I came up with a virtual reality arcade. I presented the project and everyone encouraged me to go forward with it. After a lot of hard work, I opened Imaginations VR with my fiancé Gabby. We opened in 2017 with six stations, and in 2020 we now have 12 stations, including a Virtuix Omni and a flight simulator. We are DFW’s first and best virtual reality arcade!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With opening a business, there are a lot of ups and downs. There were plenty of times within our first year we thought we would shut down. It was tough to get people to know about us! Our best marketing tool now is word of mouth.
Tell us more about the business.
We run a virtual reality arcade. We provide an amazing virtual reality experience for our customers. We are known for our awesome multiplayer games! People love to come in as a group and play together. As a company, we are most proud of our customer service. We put our heart and soul into everything we do at IVR. Our customer service is by far, what sets us apart from others. We are constantly updating our game lists and systems. We truly get to know our customers and their wants and needs.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We are very much a mom and pop shop – it’s just us two plus one employee. We are very personal with our customers which gives us a better understanding of our customer base as a whole, and also at the individual level. I feel like this is why we are so successful. We truly bond with our customers.
