Growing up, I had always loved beauty. Eyebrows were my thing then, I remember doing all my friends eyebrows and makeup with the very little things I had for it back then. I started my journey in the beauty industry two years ago, slowly. I always struggled with actually putting myself out there because I’d let fear paralyze me. Last year in December, I quit my big girl job in accounting to open up and invest in the business that I have now. It was very risky, but I took a leap in faith. I needed to learn how to get out of my comfort zone and do what I love to do which is eyebrows & lashes. Where I am today is enjoying every bit of it. I’m still learning and growing as I go. We all start somewhere, and although it’s taking a bit longer for me, I do believe this is a part of my journey and teaching me so many things along the way.
Has it been a smooth road?
Getting here wasn’t easy at all, I have my daily struggles, but isn’t that the beauty in it? Being an entrepreneur won’t always be easy. You discover so many things along the way about yourself. I started this business with absolutely no money. I went back to school and invested TIME in me and this business. I remember always being afraid about money, or about the clientele, I questioned if I did the smart thing in leaving my accounting positon, anything negative you can think of, I struggled with. The road hasn’t been easy, but my mom made it so much smoother for me. With the support, the guidance and most importantly, the love I received from her, I knew I could do anything I wanted too.

Shewokeuplikethis_ started off specializing in Microblading eyebrows. With a vision to take a more natural approach to your beauty needs, I decided to focus on what my customers needed, male or female. I decided to get my license for lashing and I now offer colored lashes for my queens who choose to be a little extra! & classic lashes for my natural beauties. I really try to make every woman/man feel naturally beautiful. The unique thing about Shewokeuplikethis is that I embrace the beauty you already have. I focus more on not dramatically changing a person but just adding a light pop in what they already have. This is what sets me apart from others by choosing to work with what you were already blessed with.
