Today we’d like to introduce you to Amelia Grant.
Amelia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Sensational Aura was birthed in 2019. It was created to help bring women more closer and aware of their feminine sensuality. The idea came to me after I gave birth to my son, I had always been interested in yoni steaming, or as some might consider vaginal steaming after reading about the benefits you could gain not only physical but also mentally I had to experience it for myself.
My first steam was done at a Spa in Dallas, while it was quite relaxing; it didn’t feel personal, nor was I educated on what herbs were being used or how they could help me. I was also disappointed after further educating myself that vaginal steaming originates in Africa, yet many women of color had no idea about Yoni Steaming. I took it upon myself to bring my sisters back to their roots of womb healing.
My dream is to create a space for women of color to be able to explore their sexuality and sensuality without feeling guilty. Women have a very sacred space that some may not even know about and we hold a lot of power in between our legs. The portal of life is within you. Sensational Aura is centered around Yoni Steaming but we also have other services such as ionic foot detoxing, private yoga sessions, waist beads, and so much more. In the next year, we are looking to expand to waxing and spiritual healing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has this been a smooth road, of course, it hasn’t when you are destined for something you will continue to hit road bumps and stumbles it’s never easy when you are headed to the top. When I first got started, I had so many people that didn’t believe in my vision they had no understand of what exactly yoni steaming was. This was my biggest barrier trying to educate women on what yoni steaming is.
Not only having non believes finding a space to hold my business has been a struggle for me. We were originally located downtown as part of Divine Sights Healing Art Center. Since the pandemic, we have been forced to step away from the studio and find alternative ways to service our tribe.
A year into the business, I have opened so many closed minds and introduced them to a life-changing self-care service. I have encouraged women to tap into their sensual side and fall in love with themselves. This is only the beginning for Sensational Aura. I know that as I expand and grow as a company, I will continue to have road bumps on the way up. I continue to remind myself, ” What’s a small thing to a giant” and keep pushing forward.
Please tell us about Sensational Aura.
Sensational Aura is a practice of holistic wellness for women. We specialize in Yoni Steaming as known as Vaginal Steaming. This is a process of taking herbs and brewing them in a pot to create steam. The steam enters the woman’s vaginal canal and depending on her vaginal needs. It starts the healing process.
I currently have four different steam blends, which are cleansing, menstrual, infection prevention and fertility. So based on the woman’s vaginal need, we build the brew from there. Yoni steaming can be done twice a month. We also have other female products such as our “Menstrual Queen Cups” Waist beads, Yoni Scrubs, Ionic foot detoxing and so much more.
I am most proud of my business because I have seen so much growth within the women I have gained as part of my tribe. I have been able to help bring women closer to themselves and gain inner confidence and love not only on the outside but also on the inside. I know that once we heal the women, the home will be healed as well.
What will separate me from others will be the dedication and desire I have for healing the woman, I am not in it for the financial gain even though we all need money to live, but I am in it for the long term gain, I know that if I can uplift and restore a woman, it will reflect into my community and help our young women and men. We are creating a sisterhood that was once here but taken away.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would consist of my dad. I lost him at a young age and treasure every memory I had with him. I believe that every woman needs her daddy and a positive male role model in her life. This is the balance that everybody needs in their lives, not even just women but men too. This is part of healing the household and a strong reason I believe in uplifting and placing the woman back on her throne.
