Meet Ana and Diana Espinosa of Picnic Maker Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana and Diana Espinosa. 

Hi Ana and Diana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our home was always a hosting space and we learned to love planning and executing events for our family and friends whether big or small. We grew up loving every aspect of making a space beautiful and hospitable. When COVID-19 came around and we did not have the ability to host events for ourselves, we were inspired to host events outdoors for others to gather and be united in the midst of the pandemic. We had a lot of time in our hands to think and dream about what Picnic Maker Dallas could look like. After a couple weeks of brainstorming ideas, we thought the small picnic setup would thrive in the DFW area. We began to design and intentionally build up our social media to promote this idea. It was not long before our first customer reached out and trusted us. Since that day we have said yes to opportunities that we did not think we were capable of reaching. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, every risk comes with its challenges. We’ve had to figure out how to run a business in a short period of time, which was hard at the beginning, but after seeking help and guidance we have been able to grow in those areas. We also have had to figure out in saying yes to larger events how to outsource inventory to be able to host our clients properly. The event industry is always changing with new trends and ideas, so we’ve had to learn how to be flexible and not hold tight to one style of design but branch out to what our clients desire their events to look like. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Picnic Maker Dallas?
Picnic Maker Dallas is a family-owned business servicing the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. PMD was created in the midst of 2020 as a dream and became a reality in January of 2021. We have been privileged to have two successful years with our luxury picnics and have branched out in coordinating and executing events such as parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, engagements, bachelorette weekends, weddings, and more. Something that sets us apart from other companies is that our events are fully customizable; we will go the extra mile to make sure your event is just as you want it. We do not typically say no to new ideas, we see this as a way to continue to grow and learn different skills. If you’re looking for a team to execute the event of your dreams and you have ideas that feel big, you can count on us to help you make it happen as best as we can. 

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Life without friends, family, and community around you can be dull and lonely. That is why we want to make it our mission to help others have that time to create memories and fellowship with one another. We all need people around us to encourage and remind us that we are not alone.
