Meet Ana Jones of I Am The Juice Place

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Jones.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I AM THE JUICE PLACE was originally founded in 2014.

Born and raised in Mexico, I grew up drinking juice made with the freshest local ingredients. My heritage and passion for wellness led me to spend several years looking at various nutritional theories.

I found that it was more than food and diet that influenced my health. It actually started with my thoughts.

My thoughts affected my mood, which affected my cravings, which ultimately affected what I ate. This realization, combined with my experience teaching yoga, built the foundation of I AM THE JUICE PLACE.

NUTRITION COMES FROM WITHIN.

My personal mission is to encourage others to see this truth – – to live heathy and joyful lives by combining positive thoughts with healthy food.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Entrepreneurial ventures are never smooth. They’re not smooth at the beginning, or half way or at the end. There’s not enough time for me to talk about all the issues that we’ve encountered because you think that coming into the “grown-up” aka professional world is full of professional people but it isn’t. As humans, we trick ourselves into believing that just because we get older we don’t act like children but It’s not always true. I’ve been told to go f*ck myself over the phone because someone made an assumption, had unreliable service providers and flaky people that I’ve had to deal with.

When I started this business, I was in a relationship and before we were open for a year, the relationship ended. Some people would say it’s a bad thing but change isn’t bad, it’s just uncomfortable. We have to learn to confront adversity and rise above. The good news is you can always learn about everything that happens in your life. If you are able to learn, you stop playing the victim and become a warrior.

I Am The Juice Place – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What separates us entirely from any other juice shop here in Dallas is our health approach. We focus entirely on affirmations. We don’t count calories because that’s an outdated system in the nutrition world so if you’re still doing that stop. Seriously. It all begins with your thoughts. Your thoughts influence your mood which will affect your food consumption and cravings. That’s why we have merged positive thoughts with healthy food.

HEALTHY THOUGHTS + HEALTHY FOOD = A HEALTHY YOU

Positive affirmations about yourself will nourish you the most and will give you fuel to live a joyful and healthy life. Like anything else, this is a wonderful habit to add to your life. We’re all here for a blink of an eye, so why not enjoy?

We’re also the ONLY juice store in Dallas that does cold-pressed juices made to order. It takes a while but we believe that good things come to those who wait. We also sell smoothies, coffee, tea and other feel good foods.

The thing that makes me most proud of my company is that every time people come in to the store they fall in love with it. Our customer service is exceptional and I have an amazing team of ladies who’ve always got my back. It’s important to have a supportive group of people working by your side.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
There are many components to success, but I think the main thing for me it is waking up in the morning and knowing I’m continuously growing as a human — being kind, loving and compassionate with myself as well as to everyone else. No matter the race, religion, immigration status or ethnicity background. It’s not easy to be patient and tolerant towards everyone all the time but I don’t like half-assign things so I always do the best I can. I like having a self run business, having enough financial stability to pay my rent, cover my expenses, and travel as well as good times spent with positive people, good friends and family.
