Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Mills.
Andre, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2nd grade I was speech therapy, content mastery and was placed under the special Ed umbrella from 2nd grade through 6th grade. I was bullied, picked on and laughed at every day by my peers. When I was in 3rd grade my teachers would not let me apply for the gifted and talented program because of my academic struggles. At the age of 12 I was a bench warmer and known as basketballs worst. My AAU basketball coach in 7th grade told the entire team that I was the worst player on the team and that he was going to kick me off. After 5 years of blood, sweat and tears, in 2013 at the age of 17 I was the 22nd ranked basketball Player overall in the state of Texas. As well as the top 100 player by scouts focus in the country, as a basketball All-American.
One moment my future was laid out before me, then one slam-dunk later, it was all over. Receiving six fractures in both of my shins, my world was destroyed after losing all of my scholarship opportunities, friend’s family, identity and purpose. Diagnosed with a rare Vitamin D deficiency called the dreaded black line, I was suddenly a kid without a plan. I soon went into a deep depression and attempted to take my life in which I thought was over. Graduating high school with a 2.3 GPA, I had never really cared that much about school, education, or life beyond ball.
At 18 I ended up writing a best-selling book for teens and young adults. Which was the beginning of my career as a public speaker. At 19 years old I decided to move to South Florida to live with the CEO of an international Non-profit organization. This transition allowed me to learn the in’s and outs of business and how to effectively run a non-profit organization. During my stay I was able to participate as a student in one of the top intense trainings in the world, which led me to studying the art of neuro-linguistics programming, transpersonal Psychology and Monasticism.
At age 20 I was given an opportunity to support in teaching college credit classes at Nova Southeastern University. Shortly after I decided to move back to Dallas Texas and take the vast knowledge and skills that were developed in South Florida. And create my own curriculum and company.
Today at the age of 22 years old, I am best- selling author, professional teen, business and life strategist and curriculum developer. As well as the CEO & Founder of a personal development company I’ve appeared in over 20 countries. Which includes television, radio, magazines and blogs. With a message to junior high and high school students, adults and businessmen and women on how to maximize your purpose, wealth, health relationships and business. I also host 1 to 4 day Transformational Trainings and seminars for Professional athletes, celebrities, Executives, entrepreneurs, college and high school students and anybody who desires the way on how to bridge the gap between where they are today in their lives and where they want to be. When I am not hosting customized solution based trainings that improves organizations and business ROI’s and unity amongst staff, or hosting 4 day training-seminars for the public. I’m facilitating 1 hour “A New Experience” school assemblies for junior high and high schools around the country.
Has it been a smooth road?
Academically challenged, speech therapy and special ed umbrella from 1st through 7th grade, Lost all of my scholarship opportunities after suffering 6 fractures in both of my shins, Parents got divorced the same month of my career ending injury senior year in high school, Being young has always resulted in me believing that I had to prove myself whenever going for a client, I went 3 years never getting paid for a speaking engagement, I got told “no” 900+ times before getting a yes for me to speak in front of a large crowd. I knew nothing about self-development, business, or writing books and curriculums, but that did not stop me from reading more than 300 books in the past 4 years to learn.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Purpose Strategics Curriculums story. Tell us more about the business.

Through these discoveries, self-limiting thoughts like “it’s too hard” or “I can’t do it” will be diminished. Each student of the curriculum will play a vital role in the creation of purpose and endless possibilities for wealth, health, relationships, education and business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry of Personal development, growing by 500% in the next 10 years. More and more young people are shifting from the traditional way to create income and finding a career which was to go to college. And college was the only known form of growth 20 and 30 years ago. Now more people are starting businesses and making a career within the digital world without a college degree because of how available knowledge and information is due to the internet. Therefor I believe that purpose strategics will become the hub for personal growth and development within 10 years. We will provide people with a new, cheaper and more effective way to becoming successful in all areas of your life.
