Meet Andrea Canady of Luxe Events in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Canady.

Andrea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started when I was 20 years old, the owner of the largest show in the US – Original Miami Beach Antique Show hired me because he liked my customer service skills, I was working at a bank and he asked me to assist him with his show in Miami so I was hired as an assistant. When he passed away I worked for his partner, he sold the business to a large trade show organization – dmg world media, they promoted me to show director and I grew my sector – Art, Antique & Jewelry from two shows to nine. I ran those shows for 28 years and recently launched my own business Luxe Events.

I live and work in Naples, FL and currently have three shows, Miami, Palm Beach and recently acquired the Fort Worth Show. I was contacted by the former owner who wanted to retire. Several dealers told her I would be the perfect promoter to take over the FW Show. I have a lot of new and exciting things planned for the show and just recently partnered with the Cowgirl Museum and we will be hosting an opening night preview party which the show has never had on March 5th.

Has it been a smooth road?
The Art & Antique business has changed for many reasons, mainly the internet, collectors can find what they want online now – eBay, 1st dibs, online auctions. That has been challenging so you have to make the show’s fun to attend, a reason to get them to come out.

Please tell us about your business.
I am a producer of high end art, antique and jewelry shows. My shows are known for quality exhibitors who are well respected and carry authentic pieces, no reproductions. My shows are fun to attend and Luxe events are know for our excellent customer service!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that it is thriving and a lot of people are moving to Dallas / FW. It has a lot of fun things to do, great places to eat and stay when you come in from out of town.
