Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Ramirez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Anna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story starts when I was in middle school, 7th grade to be exact. Makeup was all about eyeliner, and I remember that I took my mother’s eye Pencil from her makeup bag, and it’s was like an inch long. I was in pain because it wasn’t sharpened much but I manage to get the desired look I wanted “raccoon eyes” I was told by my peers, yet I was still confident, I still have photos that I’m haunted by, that my best friend still has. But when I see it, it tells me where I started. After I discovered eyelashes and it was the hardest thing to put on, I remember they were $1 lashes from the dollar store so they were not the most appealing lashes ever but I still got compliments from the girls in my track team.
Ever since the girls wanted a makeover and I did for free because it was so fun, I did it in the morning after track practice, before school started and I discovered my calling on cosmetics. Fast forward to high school when I became a freshman everyone was always asking how I did everything, my eyebrows were not the most appealing back then but like the wine, I got better with time. I started offering my services in 2016 when I got my first wedding, I remember the anxiety I had because it was my first actual paying customer and my kit wasn’t that good, but the ladies were so friendly and thankful that they found me so last minute. They were satisfied and ever since I gain confidence and better Communication, I’ve been told I’m an amazing listener! Later in January 2018, I found out I was pregnant with my son and had to stop offering my services temporarily, those nine months were the longest in my life, but I took the time to build up my kit and get it to a professional-grade, October 1st, 2018, my son Ezra is born and was the biggest motivation in my life, I started six weeks after birth working again met an amazing makeup artist that I assisted in some occasions and I learned a lot from her, later 2019 came and I was getting weddings every weekend and my kit was complete after investing in it so much. I later learned to do hair, and it was the most challenging part of my career, I would spectate when I would do weddings, there would be a hairstylist on-site and I took notes, after a few months I made a hair kit and now I can do any hairstyle, I later joined one of the best makeup and hair bosses in Dallas, Misty James owner of The Dallas makeup team and she Encouraged me to do airbrush! Another form of makeup application. And she was the queen of airbrushing so I learned. I was published on a bodybuilding magazine I did in Waco TX, my client got 1st and I remember being so happy seeing my name on the magazine!
Has it been a smooth road?
It wasn’t so easy at first because of balancing being a mother and having a 4-month-old and having sleepless nights, I would be tired the next morning to do a wedding. The older my son grew, the more I struggled, I would breastfeed him and wouldn’t be able to pump during a wedding, so I had to do the switch to formula, which made me sad, but thankfully, my husband took care of him for me and had the support of his whole family, I also had have and iron deficiency where I would feel light-headed while standing and driving so I was scared at time if the wedding was a couple of hours away. Mid-2019, I got rear-ended and needed to repair my car and so I had a rental that wasted so much gas! The timing was bad but I managed.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Royal Makeup & Hair Artistry story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
