Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel and Gabrielle Carrillo.
Hi Ariel and Gabrielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Together we run and operate Bianca & Briana’s Boutique along with our mother and third owner, Marilyn. The three of us wanted to start a business together in hopes to begin a legacy for our future generations. It also helps us stay close! We are already best friends but owning a business together is the perfect excuse to spend even more time with one another. We needed to think of something related to the three of us to do because we all have different career backgrounds. Mom was in the medical field, Ariel works in social services and Gabby has a background in multifamily housing. Our one common interest has always been shopping! We are all for the fashion industry, whether it be retail therapy, window shopping or even modeling! During one of our many FaceTime dates, before the pandemic, Bianca & Briana’s Boutique was born. Looking through fashion trends and talking with our friends and family, we decided that we wanted to make our boutique all-inclusive. We want our customers to feel confident and comfortable in the clothes they purchase from us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! We put together the start of our business plan in January of 2020. The wheels started moving for us and details of our online store started to come to life. Unfortunately, all of our hard work came to a sudden stop due to the ongoing pandemic. We decided to focus on the health of our loved ones while also living in two separate states. In addition to the pandemic, we had to make difficult decisions such as funding, storage and most importantly, finding products to sell. Honestly, finding clothing that is all-inclusive is very challenging. Most clothing is aimed towards women who have a certain shape and size. We want everyone to be able to find clothes for their body type at Bianca & Briana’s Boutique! While the fashion industry is trying to improve the quality and quantity of clothing, there are definitely still challenges.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We love the ongoing Women Supporting Women movement! You can often see us supporting our fellow Boss Babes. Whether it be sharing their products on our pages or inviting female business owners to model our items in hopes to get new eyes on their personal story. One of our main goals is to also support women who may also need a helping hand. Fashion can truly make a girl feel so beautiful. Which is why we have decided to launch our own organization. Our hope is to put our team of supporters to work by asking them and our customers to donate their gently used items to us so that we may distribute them to women shelters all over Dallas-Fort Worth. We understand how a new purse or pair of shoes can make you feel confident and strong, which is why we are so thrilled to announce our plans for the first time with Voyage Dallas!
