Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Griffin.
Having grown up all over the country, Ashley Griffin is carried by culture, fulfilled by people, and inspired by thoughtful sartorial expression. Upon graduation from Florida State University with a cum laude degree in Mass Media Studies and a double minor in Sociology and English, Ashley established a career in corporate marketing with Neiman Marcus Group. With a strong desire to constantly grow and dream big, she quickly blossomed into an innovative, strategic marketing leader that went on to lead marketing for brands like Omni Hotels & Resorts and Highland Park Village.
While building her corporate career, Ashley launched The Inspired I to share her deep passion for sartorial expression and genuine connection with a wider audience. As someone that refuses to follow anyone’s rules or limitations, Ashley is humbled to have created an authentic and relatable point-of-a-view that has allowed her to partner with esteemed brands and host community-centric events. Ashley also has a profound love for serving youth as a mentor to her little sister, Michelle, through Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing worth having comes smooth. Throughout the journey, I have encountered many roadblocks like rejection, bad bosses, toxic cultural environment. You name it. But I made sure each challenge served as mere motivation to push beyond and perform at my very best. From this, it fosters immense growth and the ability to hold fast to invaluable skills to be the kind of leader that I strive to be, which is one that always values people first.
Please tell us about your work.
I can only hope that I’ve become known as someone with a genuine and pure heart that just so happens to have something interesting to say sartorially. I’m most proud of walking in my truth every day in everything I do. No matter what role is required of me in my corporate career or through The Inspired I, leaving people feeling better about themselves, their dreams, capabilities – everything they embody – will forever remain what I hope sets me apart from the masses.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I always say change is the only constant. I am focused on strong growth in my leadership role as a marketer and welcome new Tii collaborations with special brands. I’m most excited to collaborate with B. FREEDOM this spring – a black female founded clothing line.
