Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Kay.
Ashley was born in Sherman, TX at WNJ Hospital on December 13th. At the age of two, her mother relocated her to Oklahoma City. She remained there attending Dunbar Elementary and Millwood Middle schools. In the middle of her freshman year at Northwest Classen, she moved back to Texas and finished out her high school years at Denison High School.
Ashley continued her education at Grayson County College where she obtained degrees in General Education, Psychology, and Sociology. That wasn’t where she stopped, in 2010 she became a Registered Dental Assistant and specializing in dental insurance. She currently resides in DFW area along with her two kids.
Pursuing Entrepreneurship
In 2007 Ashley had a vision to become an entrepreneur. She went to massage therapy school and opened her first suite in Sherman, TX. Being able to make her own schedule is what Ashley fell in love with when working for herself. She continued massaging part-time and also joined the dental field to have a secure income. In the beginning of 2012, she took a leap of faith and let corporate America go to be on her own once more. With struggle comes success! She launched PrettyGurlzInc and PGI Printing & Promotions near the end of 2012, had her own radio show Gimme Tha Mic-in 2015 supporting underground artists, joined Pure Romance and FES Financial Services (Credit Repair) as an independent agent in 2016, and launched AK Marketing Solutions in 2017.
Since 2018, she has opened Xclusive Fit Club & Spa, Dynamic Virtual Office Management, and joined Herbalife. Hard work pays off! She recently just launched We Care Health Concierge which is a company that caters to consumers who struggle with everyday aches and pains. It offers pain management alternatives to help the opioid epidemic. The company also directs consumers in the right location to find the best providers in their area for needed care.
Ashley has a passion to help others and always goes that extra mile to make sure others are taken care of. She’s known for going above and beyond! Her mission is to let others know her testimony and give them pointers on how to be self-driven and always have faith within yourself. Giving up IS NOT an option. In the words of her mentor, “You eat what you kill, so kill it!!” Needless to say, she starves for success so every day she strives to ‘kill it’!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurs are always faced with challenges, especially unexpected ones. Failure is to be expected but what makes you a successful entrepreneur is figuring out a solution to the problem and executing it. Never giving up and staying focused is a must.
My daily reminder is “Without struggle, there’s no progress.” Struggles are most definitely a learning process that I feel is necessary to be destined for success. My struggles have included business failures, financial crisis, lack of dependable business partners, etc. Once I felt things were going downhill with one project I had to figure out how to turn things around or simply move on to something else that may work out better.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Not having to pay bills lol is the first thing that came to mind. Being carefree and just living life is my favorite memory.
