Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlie Woods.
Ashlie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The business that I run today was born out of a vision I had almost 5 years ago. My partner and I were traveling throughout Southeast Asia on the trip of a lifetime. I was taking advantage of all the extra time on my hands to religiously work my way through The Artist Way, a 12-week self-guided program for unblocking your creativity. I was engaged in one of the exercises when I had what I now refer to as a Divine Download. I was standing on a tiny little street in the middle of Bangkok, Thailand and I saw it all play out before me so clearly.
In my vision, there was a group of women, standing around a long banquet table, having a lively conversation and the mood was so intimate and celebratory (totally included twinkle lights!) Everyone looked radiant, the way that all women do when they really know their value. And I knew immediately that I was in some way responsible for having that all happen. The answer was clear to me that if I can do ANYTHING, I would facilitate transformational experiences in beautiful places around the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My vision was clear but my level of confidence wasn’t yet a match. I immediately felt like I would need to get more training, more experience or some sort of certification that would empower me to do this thing that I wanted to do.
What I didn’t understand then that I firmly believe now is that the desire would’ve never been put in my heart if I weren’t already equipped to make it happen. I did get more training and I did get certified and I’m grateful that I did those things but the real challenge was me learning to trust myself and truly giving myself permission to go after my dream.
Wildhearted Retreats – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I believe there’s a life that wants to be lived through you and a purpose that only you can fulfill. If you can quiet your mind and listen to the wisdom of your heart then your heart will lead you directly to that purpose and it will be the most satisfying and fulfilling expression of life that you can imagine.
I facilitate Wildhearted Retreats around the world where people get the opportunity to step away from the normal routines of their life, quiet the noise in their head and get clear about what really matters to them. People repeatedly leave these retreats feeling empowered to move in the direction that is now abundantly clear to them and they do so with great ease and joy.
I also offer one-on-one coaching to support people in turning their clear vision into reality and pursuing their true heart’s desire. We all need support if we are going to move beyond the predictable, status quo results and into the new and exciting territory of what’s possible.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as a combination of going beyond what I ever thought was possible in terms of my own potential and the impact my business can make in the world and experiencing a deep level of satisfaction and joy along the way.
