Meet Austin Williams of Titan Pressure Washing in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Williams.

Austin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my first business when I was 14, mowing yards and pressure washing around my neighborhood with the help of my father. He taught me a great deal about taking pride in my work, customer service, and what it means to be a professional. As I grew up and entered the workforce, I could never find anything that gave me the same sense of fulfillment that I had when working for myself. Fast forward to 2013 when, after years of researching and studying, I formed Titan Pressure Washing. The company started off in my garage as just myself, a truck, and a trailer. We quickly grew to upgrade our equipment, add staff, and expand into our current warehouse. We started off washing residential homes and worked our way into larger and larger commercial clients. We still wash quite a few homes and driveways, but now we can be found any day of the week at restaurant chains, grocery stores, and parking garages. It has only been a few years but the experience has been phenomenal and we have no intentions of slowing down anytime soon.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
While it has been very enjoyable, running the business has had its fair share of obstacles. When everything comes down to one person it can definitely become overwhelming if you let it. My biggest struggle starting off was trying to fill so many roles at once. For the first year I was in business, I was still working a 40+ hour workweek at my day job and then going to work nights and weekends to get Titan off of the ground. All the while I am acting as customer service, human resources, I am running bids, invoicing, researching and filling my head with as much knowledge as possible and at some point, stopping to sleep just enough to do it again the next day. The greatest asset I had going into this career was the knowledge I had gained from various management and tech positions I had worked prior. You never realize how much you absorbed at a job until you find yourself using it in ways you never imagined later in life. Even today I still sometimes struggle with delegating out responsibilities that were once all mine. I am just very lucky to have a great group of people around me that I know I can trust to uphold our company standards.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Titan Pressure Washing is a locally owned business in North Fort Worth. We specialize only in pressure washing. Many companies like to operate as a one-stop-shop where you can get your pressure washing, stripping, staining, landscaping, etc. all from one company. Our business model allows us to be the best at what we do by keeping our focus on just one service. We are not spreading our knowledge around to various subcategories, nor do we ever plan to. We operate only high end hot water commercial machines with industrial chemicals to fit almost any need. Our primary business is stone and concrete restoration but we also service tile, vinyl, metal, and painted surfaces as well. As a specialist in the industry we offer services to residents and commercial clients all over the DFW metroplex. While most of our business comes from Dallas County, we have worked everywhere from Denton to Alvarado and Weatherford to Rockwall as well as everywhere in between.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a hands-on learner. I loved to tinker and figure out how things worked. I was always fascinated by my dad’s tool box because it had everything I needed to take apart anything I got my hands on. More than once this got me in quite a bit of trouble as the tools would be scattered everywhere and something expensive would be in parts. Even so, I would do it again because I was learning and I loved it.

My interest was always centered around science, electronics, and anything that could be considered a gadget. This is still true today, and I am still just as fascinated with the technology now as I was in the 80’s.
