Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Bowen.
Hi Becca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I worked for the Sherwin-Williams paint company for over 15 years. My final role was as a color consultant for the In-Home Color Program. In April of 2020, this program was shut down due to the Covid pandemic. Unfortunately, all of the color consultants were laid off. In order to pursue my passion for color and design, I decided to start my own color consulting business. I created a business model, began networking, and launched Hues to You in October of 2020.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Creating a network through social media platforms, and making my own website have been exciting challenges that I have faced. Fortunately, I have been able to pull on the experience and knowledge of many great colleagues along the way. This journey as a new entrepreneur has taught me so much, and I am thrilled to find out what is in store next.
We’ve been impressed with Hues to You, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I create beautiful and unique color palettes, individually tailored, for home projects in the DFW area. I understand that color selection can be challenging. It can be a struggle to find the perfect neutral or decide where and when to add in bolder hues. By assessing design aesthetic, lighting, and layout, I help streamline this process.
What matters most to you? Why?
Spending time with my family and friends is what matters most to me. Starting my business has had its challenges but has created the healthy work/life balance I have been striving for. Hues to You has given me the opportunity to have that time with my friends and family and for that I am grateful!
