Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Chavez.
Bianca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started getting lash extensions back in 2015 & fell in love with having them but I never expected to gain an interest in actually applying them. It wasn’t until the Winter of 2017 when I decided I needed a change of scenary in the workplace. I had always wanted to get into the beauty industry but was so indecisive in what field until a friend told me about a local cosmetology school that offered the lash extension course. I did my research & procrastinated so much that I then decided to enroll that following Spring, and honestly, it was not what I expected. It was tough, but I stuck to it and I’m glad I did!
That same friend introduced me to a local lash artist, (Laurie from Laurie Lash), where we connected & she blessed me with an apprenticeship in September 2018. Not only was/IS she an amazing mentor, she gets me to see my true potential.
A year later, I am now successfully able to do what I love to do full time without having to answer to anyone. I love seeing my clients(who have all turned into amazing friends) because I couldn’t get where I am with them. My passion for lashes has definitely grown from that first day at school & I believe it shows in my work.
Has it been a smooth road?
My journey has not been the easiest and I have definitely had my fair share of struggles. BUT! I never gave up. I think being in the beauty industry, our main struggles are gaining clientele when first starting out, wanting to perfect our craft in an unrealistic time frame, & lack of confidence. Well, at least for me, these were my struggles.
Thankfully, the apprenticeship boosted my confidence. With the confidence, my work got better & the clientele came. Since then, I feel as though I am a better lash artist and the more I lashed, the more I wanted to keep lashing. I knew success would come but I had to be patient with myself.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Bee’Lashed Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am currently a licensed eyelash extension specialist, where the services I offer are lash lifts(with tint), classic extensions & just recently volume extensions. I’m most known for creating the natural looks when it comes to classic extensions. Being able to create a look desirable to my clients that they enjoy is the best part of the job.
I created Bee’Lashed Studio with the intent of it being so much larger than what it currently is. So seeing it run the way I have always dreamed makes me so proud and how far I’ve come but it also reminds me of how far I need to go. (so stay tuned…)
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how we have so many entrepreneurs, go-getters in the community. I have seen so many talented people willing to make a difference and take that leap for their future! I dislike how easily minds get so corrupted to put everyone against one another when we should be building each other up. I hope in the near future this can happen so we can all make a difference not only for ourselves but for the next generation that is looking up to us.
