Meet Blake Yoon Kim of All Care Dental in South Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Yoon Kim.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Blake Yoon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve been practicing dentistry for over seven years. I’ve gone back and forth from private practice and clinics in underserved areas. Over the last couple of years, I’ve found it more rewarding to practice and serve the patients that are often turned away from other offices because they only have Medicaid and/limited resources to seek dental treatment. One year ago, I bought my south Dallas office from my boss. The office was doing well and providing patients with great care, but the scope of treatment was limited. My goal once I acquired the office was to offer a broader range of treatment options (i.e. implants, implant-supported dentures, Invisalign) affordably and also work with patients’ insurances to help our patients receive the treatment that would serve them best, but more importantly, the treatment they desired.

Often with many insurances, patients think they are limited to certain procedures, and often “settle” for example, traditional dentures or extracting multiple teeth. Insurances, even government-sponsored insurance, want what is best for the patient and are more than willing to work with any treatment plan as long as the patient and dentist provide the necessary information. It has been exciting and rewarding to help patients, who have been wearing ill-fitting dentures for years, that they have the option to have implants placed to retain and support their dentures. My first office is doing well and patients are happy, and within one year, I am able to open another office.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. I’ve struggled trying to figure out what I wanted to do in my career. If I wanted to open a small private office and do cosmetic procedures, or just practice as an associate and work for someone else long term. I’ve jumped around from offices trying to find the right dynamic for myself.

I own two dental offices, I work in underserved urban areas. I am proud of my staff and the quality of care we offer our patients.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’ve expanded to two offices, and I plan to continue to grow the practices with my existing staff. I’ve known and worked with my leads over 7-8 years. I have a dream team that cares for patients and the community.
