Meet Brett Randle of Soulman’s Bar-B-Que

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Randle.

From waiting tables to running the boardroom, there’s one thing that has remained constant throughout Brett Randle’s time in the restaurant industry- his unwavering leadership principles. The CEO of the popular Bar-B-Que chain has coined a leadership style that tastes almost as good as his BBQ.

“We are laser-focused on doing 3 things right each and every day: serving great food, providing friendly and sincere service and having an unmatched cleanliness in our restaurants,” Randle said.

Brett began his career in the restaurant industry at the age of 21 working as a bar back in a bar owned by his father. After years of bartending and waiting tables, he decided it was time to try his hand at the executive side of the business. In 2008, he joined the Soulman’s team and has since made them a front-runner in the Bar-B-Que game.

“The soul of our business is our people,” he said. “At Soulman’s we’re committed to building and maintaining a strong, people-focused culture. Absolute customer satisfaction is the highest priority every single day.”

He believes that success starts from the inside out- so much so that the CEO attended culinary school to better his skills in the kitchen. “You have to be a good follower before you can be a good leader,” Randle said.

Under the leadership of Randle, Soulman’s growth has surpassed 500%, from four locations to their current 17 – with plans for more. To this day, he attributes his tremendous success to hard work and a little common sense.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Soulman’s Bar-B-Que story. Tell us more about the business.
“The soul of our business is our people… At Soulman’s Bar-B-Que we’re committed to building and maintaining a strong people focus culture. Were like a big family.”

“We understand that in order to expect a superior performance from our employees, we must create and maintain a compelling place to work. Our goal is to a make working for us more than just a job, but a place people can realize their personal and professional aspirations.”

“We believe that whatever we spend to obtain and develop good people will be returned in abundance.”

“Absolute customer satisfaction is the highest priority every single day.”

For more than 40 years, Soulman’s Bar-B-Que has satisfied the hardest to please bar-b-que lovers…Texans! Their selections of meats are cooked “low and slow” over hickory in a time-honored tradition: beef brisket, ham, hot links, sausage, turkey, chicken, pulled pork and, the crowd favorite, ribs. Ranch House Beans and Spicy Cream Corn are among the delicious homemade sides.

Soulman’s currently owns and operates 17 North and East Texas locations in Allen, Cedar Hill, Forney, Garland, Greenville, Hurst, Lancaster, Lewisville, Mansfield, Mesquite, Quinlan, Rockwall (2), Royse City, Terrell and Van.
