Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany N. Stephenson.
Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Busy Bee’s Virtual Assistance and Management were was started almost four years ago as a means to help individuals, for profit businesses, and non-profit organizations reclaim their time. We started offering virtual assistance to those who needed a little help juggling the complexities of life and work. The vision was simple: be the balance busy professionals need so they do not have to choose between important events such as going to an office on Saturday or missing their child’s last soccer game of the season.
We’ve been busy helping people since! We’ve helped over 30 clients in the last few years and we have no plans of stopping. We are virtual which means we can be everywhere you need us to be. We have clients in major cities including Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Hartford, and Boston. It’s been a beautiful journey.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our company was created based on a passion to help and serve others. After spending much of my professional career in executive assistant roles with local governments and municipalities, I knew a thing or two about the value of time management. The need for “an extra pair of hands” on projects and assignments (small or large) is often critical. The reality is people just don’t have enough time to “do it all” so they simply call us.
Fortunately, it has been a fairly smooth road (*knocks on proverbial wood*). We are so proud that 98% of our clients are by referral and that has been the case since inception. People believe in the services we offer and we do our best to deliver. The only “struggle” is with our capacity. We’d like to help as many people and organizations as we can but we sometimes have to turn potential clients away. We try to balance this through varied service plan offerings including hourly, monthly, or project-based. Each client should feel like they are the only one; through our unique strategies, we are committed to that notion.
Busy Bee’s Virtual Assistance & Management – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Busy Bee’s VA is your full-service administrative support agency. We take pride in providing individualized attention to the business and personal needs of our clients. What do we do? A bit of everything, seriously! From routine administrative services, event & project management, travel related planning & execution to scheduling your child’s doctors appointments, relocation assistance, and setting up your housekeeping needs. We offer a wide array of services to streamline our clients’ lives and make it easier. Our team is passionate about the work we do and we do it all with a smile.
We are very proud of our reputation and commitment to getting things done. As we mentioned, 98% of our clients come by way of referrals; that speaks for itself. We take our work seriously-your needs become ours. We aim to offer unbeatable services for the whole client.
As a virtual company, we are able to work with a range of clients in different locations. We are set apart from our competitors for a number of reasons including the personal approach we take with each client. Our clients are valued and we absolutely mean it. We are extremely accessible; our clients will tell you that there is rarely a delay in response times. We are always on-call for their needs.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always busy! No surprise there🙂
I have always been incredibly extroverted. Talking to strangers has been something I’ve done as far back as I can remember. Being a Texan, I can get away with that! I am the oldest of four and so I took my role as big sister seriously (right, siblings? :)). I have also always been entrepreneurial; I had my own cleaning company in 7th grade! To this day, I remain a top tier cleaner and lay the best vacuum tracks!
I enjoyed volunteering in the community and had a passion for theater. I completed undergrad at Baylor University (SIC ‘EM BEARS!) and remember taking theater appreciation because I was THAT interested in it. I liked basketball but made the “C” team in middle school; talk about trauma! I perfected my Spanish to compensate for my lack of athleticism which has served me well with my Spanish speaking clients. Looking back, all of my interests then have brought me to exactly what I am doing now-helping people and staying busy. In addition to running Busy Bee’s VA full time, I am a proud superhost on the AirBnB platform, president of Playhouse on Park’s Young Professional Advisory Board, engaged member of the Urban League of Greater Hartford’s Young Professionals, member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum of Southern New England, and currently pursuing my MSHRM degree at UConn (GO HUSKIES!).
