Meet brittany Rodriguez of Ninja Nation in FRISCO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Rodriguez.

Brittany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
So I was the head volleyball coach and honors physics teacher at Plano West. I was there 14 years with a very successful program but wanted something different. I didn’t agree with where public schooling was headed. My husband, who I just married in 2017, was job hunting and came across Ninja Nation, so I decided to apply for their arena manager position. I ended up getting the job in August right as volleyball season was starting. Then on December 20, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. To add to that, my husband lost his previous wife to autoimmune disease, and I have two step-children whose stepmom now has cancer. Well, I look back, and God has me this amazing husband who had been through struggles before and was not afraid to help me fight. We created a Facebook page and started the journey. Faith over fear- Brittany’s Battle. Not only that, but my mom lives down the street, and we lost my dad to cancer ten years ago. Now she helps get me to Dr. appointments and what not. Ninja Nation has been such a blessing to me. It gives me positive energy and a reason to fight. When you come into the ninja nation, the music is playing, and people are high fiving each other. I have learned a new perspective on life through this journey. You just never know what people are going through in life, why they don’t have hair, why they look down, why they are shaped differently etc. love life like it’s your last day!!

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. My face would break out in a crazy rash, cancer sores, dry skin, nauseousness, exhaustion and just extra time at so many appointments. Mentally it’s tough too because I think about not leaving my mom, husband, kids, friends behind, and that’s scary.

Tell us more about the business.
