Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Colombe.
Cameron, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am innately a design-driven individual. I have been passionate about art, interior design, graphic design, and photography throughout my whole life. At the current point in my career journey, I am employed as a full-time commercial interior designer and photographer on the side. Photography has always been one of my favorite means of creative expression and it is a hobby that has developed seamlessly with my inborn talents. I believe that there is a certain degree of intentional attention that is necessary in order to pick up on the variances of beauty found in everyday life. I am constantly fascinated by the many ways that depth-of-field, texture, color, shadow, and pattern unite to form compositions. My senses are finely attuned to the experience of beauty all around us and I find purpose in my artwork as I share my viewpoint with others. My drive to explore the world through travel is largely motivated by my desire to photograph the abundance of magnificent landscapes, infrastructure, animals, and culture that exist in this life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The simple answer is no, things haven’t always been easy. But is life truly always easy for anyone? We all face our individual versions of trials in this life. But honestly, I am grateful for all of the challenging experiences that have defined my journey. I have grown into a stronger individual, armed with my tools of faith and self-understanding. The challenges in my life are what have allowed me to evolve into the most compassionate, joyful, and passionate version of myself. I wake up each day excited to learn something new, work hard towards achieving my goals, and to make a positive difference in any way that I can. I choose to view each day as a gift from God and that fuels my sense of urgency as I encourage others to strive to be the best versions of themselves, too. The truth is that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Therefore, it is critical that we seize each day as a new opportunity with a sense of overflowing gratitude. And that we do, say, and create something meaningful.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My photography business, Cameron Colombe Photography is currently in the process of launching as an official business. I have been growing my audience through my Instagram page, @CameronColombePhotography, throughout the past few years. This page primarily features my landscape, macro, and abstract photography collections. I am in the process of launching an online web gallery as well. I have photographed people over the years for various requests – from senior photos to family photos. I am open to all requests and I look forward to working with new clients in the future. Client relations are so important to me. I work with the individual to meet each unique need and to get to know some new friends in the process.
What were you like growing up?
One of my biggest goals for 2020 (and the years ahead) is to establish business connections so that I can get my artwork distributed to larger crowds and at some retail locations across the country. In the meanwhile, I plan to continue to add photographs and features to my online gallery.
