Meet Carolyn Osborne and Lauren Perkins of Lola + Lina in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn Osborne and Lauren Perkins.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Carolyn and Lauren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Lola + Lina came to life in 2016 when we realized there was a need for statement jewelry and accessories in Fort Worth. With Fort Worth starting to grow, we knew there was no better time so we buckled down, and created Lola + Lina.

As a child, I, Carolyn grew up with the nickname Carolina… Lina comes from that. Lauren’s family called her Lola around the house. We figured the name was catchy and what better way to name a company other than after yourself!

We started by selling our products on Instagram (photographing and selling inventory from our house). From there, we outgrew the house and moved to an office, then an appointment only shop and now, our first storefront in the heart of Fort Worth!

Not only do we sell reputable designers, but we also started a line of statement game day earrings. Both of us are TCU alum and attend many TCU football games, along with other school sports. While purple may not be everyone’s favorite color, we realized we should come up with a way to support the Frogs even if you do or don’t wear purple! Since statement earrings are so in, we figured BIG horned frogs could potentially do well. After one month, we sold over 400 Horned Frog earrings. From there, we had the idea to start covering all colleges. We are basically two businesses in one!

Has it been a smooth road?
To our knowledge, every startup will come with struggles. With that being said, we are fortunate that the majority of our road has been smooth sailing.

Tell us about your business/company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
We are a jewelry and accessories boutique that caters to all people and styles. We sell fashionable jewelry, accessories, and clothes not only in Fort Worth but nationwide. We are known for our Lola + Lina line which consists of gameday licensed jewelry. Started off being licensed by 1 school, now licensed by 20 with several more being worked on.

Most proud of how far we have come in less than two days. Most proud of our growth and how much we have managed to accomplish in such little time. Also – our relationship. We are sister in laws and make a very good team. With different interests, skills and passions, we don’t butt heads… so it works great!

What sets us apart? We bond with our customers. We relate to our customers. We are real, honest and no there is no filter behind the camera or what you see.

What sets us apart in Fort Worth? We try to carry designers that no one else here carries.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
There is nothing similar to us in Fort Worth! We opened at the perfect time. This may not be the answer you want… but there is nothing to hate about Fort Worth. It’s wholesale, charming, happy, and easy! We weren’t born here, but this is home to both of us. (If we had to pick something… we’d throw in some healthier lunch spots closer to our store.)

Pricing:

  • We carry all price points. You can find a pair of earrings for $32 or a pair of Oscar De La Renta earrings for over $400
