Meet Chelsea Evans of Gal’s Best Friend

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Evans.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chelsea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started with a dream – literally! Our NYC blogger, Megan, had a dream that she, I and Jessica, started a blog based on our dog obsession. Who doesn’t love puppy eyes, wet kisses and tail wags?! We adore our dogs, enjoy planning social events and love connecting with like-minded gals all over the world.

We started planning and building our brand in November 2015 and it all came to life in January 2016! Gal’s Best Friend is a site for modern-day dog moms who share our affinity and love for all things dog. We find the hottest dog and dog mom trends every season, cutest and highest quality products and we post our greatest DIY nails and fails that dog moms want to know about. We volunteer with rescues in our cities, host local meetups and connect with dog lovers everywhere!

Although, we are excited about the growth in readers/followers each year, we are even more excited about new things that Gal’s Best Friend has to offer them. Last year, we started working with local rescues to find furever families for homeless pets. This year, Gal’s Best Friend is launching two new legs that will help find foster moms for dogs in need and we are also helping companies grow their brand through social media and event hosting.

Has it been a smooth road?
With any growth comes challenges but it’s nice to have two other gals to lean on. We support each other as we run toward the hurdles and safely make it over them. If we don’t, we just dust off and try another approach. For the most part, we’ve had an amazing and loyal following that has made growth manageable and accessible. We couldn’t ask for a better group of supporters!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Gal’s Best Friend story. Tell us more about the business.
Gal’s Best Friend started as a lifestyle blog and has turned into so much more than that! We have gals from all over the world who look to us for advice on the newest crazes in the dog world. We work closely with rescues, find foster moms, help build dog business brands and so much more!

Puppy Baby Step Mamas is the newest adventure for Gal’s Best Friend. We are partnering with rescue groups all over the country and providing them with the best foster moms so homeless pups can find their furever homes. We held interviews and chose the best of the best #dogmoms in Dallas, Austin, Miami, LA, Chicago and beyond to open their homes and bring awareness to these babies that are in search of the perfect family. Fostering helps rescues take in more dogs that are in need and also put dogs in homes, instead of kennels, as they wait to be adopted.

What makes Puppy Baby Step Mamas stand out is that we have hand selected these dog-loving women. We picked gals who are highly involved in the dog community, very active on social media, enjoy going to events, are great networkers and most importantly, love dogs! We, along with our PBM’s, want to make sure that we are giving these pups every opportunity to be seen for the greatest chance of finding the best home.

We are also looking for Fairy Dog Mothers. These bad ass dog moms will be taking in senior dogs for long-term fostering as they prepare to cross the rainbow bridge. Our Fairy Dog Mothers will be giving these fur-babies unconditional human love in their last days, a warm home and kisses every night.

The GBF Group is also one of this year’s ventures. It is the marketing, social media, events and community building firm for the dog world. We have one mission in mind; to grow the dog industry from coast to coast.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The dog industry will always be popular because there’s no love like a dog’s love! You always remember your first family pup, ya know? You think, “I’ll never love another dog as much as I loved her”. Then you grow up, get married, adopt your own fur baby and that once-in-a-lifetime puppy love finds its way right back to your heart! Then you grow even older and realize, “Hey, I like my dog more than I like my kids! Let’s spoil him to the max!” I mean, have you seen all of the dog hashtags on Instagram? It’s insane! Don’t mess with us dog moms! Haha! So, in my dog-loving opinion, it’s a steady incline from here on out!

Pricing:

  • Social Media Boost + Company Feature on GBF; ~$100-$350
