Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherece Casale.
Cherece, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Taking pictures has been a passion of mine since I was a kid with a Polaroid camera. I love telling a story through images and making people feel things in their gut.
I have a double major in Art + Theater and while that is such a beautiful combination for a Photographer, I actually fell into fashion design for many years. I did photography on the side – mostly for family and friends for a long time and two years ago, I decided to leave the corporate world to follow my dreams and haven’t looked back!
We have a responsibility and privilege as photographers to see the beauty around us and share it. I love it when clients see their images and say, “Whaaaaat?? That’s US?!!” It makes me happy when people get to see how beautiful they truly are.
We go through life in such a rush & it flies by in the blink of an eye. I just want to pause time, document real life, real love, real connections. And give back something to remember. So you can relive these precious moments again and again and again.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think anything worth having is worth working for and I feel like most of the time, the most rewarding things come with great struggle. It’s definitely been a journey getting to this point. It takes a lot of courage and faith to quit a full-time career making a great living to follow your passion and dream full time. Sometimes you just have to jump (with a plan, of course!)
Photography can be a very lonely profession. Yes, you get to be with amazing clients, witnessing great love and happiness – many times on the very best day of their lives! But we work alone most of the time & it can be isolating. Social media has changed the landscape of our lives and it’s very easy to get caught in the comparison game and fall in a dark hole of not feeling like you’ll ever be enough. Thankfully I have made some amazing connections and life-long friends that make it easier! There is a great community in this industry when you find your people.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Cherece Casale Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I capture moments… love + connection, sweet, vulnerable, intimate moments captured between people – the glances, the giggles, the cuddles, the tears…
I specialize in couples and intimate weddings, but I also love senior sessions! I started out photographing just about everything, but I have found that this is my sweet spot.
I am most proud of how far I have come + how much I have learned since I made the decision to put my whole heart and soul into this thing. I have invested a lot into doing what I love and I feel like my work has grown so much as a result.
I like to think my client experience sets me apart from others. It is my highest priority to make people feel important and beautiful and loved and heard. Not just in my business, but in life. I want people to feel all those things from the moment they reach out to me until well after their gallery has been delivered. To me, this business is so much more than just showing up on the day of a session or wedding and just taking pictures. I want my clients to be more than clients! I want to allow them a space in which to be truly vulnerable and honest and themselves. It takes trust from both sides of the camera and that is what I aim to have every single time.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I want to continue to learn and grow this amazing gift I have been given. Education is so crucial to that – I feel like we should be learning every single day + I work on that in every aspect of my life. I’m hoping to do some rebranding in the next 12-18 months so that I have a more cohesive website/social media experience. But mostly, I’m looking forward to meeting lots of new clients, loving on them, and showing them just how incredible they are.
