Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Hubbard.
Corey, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been playing drums for all of my life essentially, so I’ve always had an ear for music. I was a senior in high school when I had some friends bring the studio and set it up in a practice room in the band hall, so I just went in there and started rapping, and I wouldn’t take it seriously until people were like, this is actually good. So I just kept going, doing shows, releasing music and it led me here to where I am today.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it’s not been a smooth road, from fighting myself to have free time to work on music or just trying to stay focused on the main goal, which is success. I feel like you can say you’re growing, but it really has to be you making yourself grow everyday.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m Yeroc, a rapper, I’m known for making complex but fun music in every mood possible. I’m most proud of myself being versatile and not sticking to my consumers getting used to hearing the same sound from me.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have learned how and where to invest my money instead of blindly, putting it places, thinking that it would help me.
