Meet Cynthia Rogers of Cynfully Soul Good & Divas DFW, Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Rogers.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Cynthia Rogers, a Dallas Native. I was raised in Oak Cliff by my great-grandparents. My grandmother would be the inspiration for my kitchen foundation. I developed the skill of cooking at a young age. She taught me how to cook from scratch.

My grandmother also instilled in me the importance of giving back, because if it wasn’t for others helping me, my story would be different. I’ve always had a love for kids and would have monthly get-togethers with the young girls in my family and community. Those girls would discuss their struggles with talking to their mom about their adversities. In those conversations, I realized that if they were dealing with this issue, so were others. I reached out to my best friend and told her about my vision and in 2010, Divas DFW, Inc., was formed.

As I traveled through life, my good old fashioned Southern foods and unhealthy eating habits would eventually catch up to me as I developed prediabetes and high cholesterol. After several years of battling with unwanted health issues, in 2017, I transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle which saved my life because it eliminated my prediabetes and high cholesterol and in 2019, I gave birth to Cynfully Soul Good.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been several bumps in the road for both Cynfully Soul Good and Divas DFW, Inc., but I believe it comes with the territory. I had to learn a new industry for Cynfully which consisted of enrolling in classes, workshops and programs to help me structure my business and learn the Content Creator industry. I had to seek additional mentors & sponsors for Divas DFW, Inc., in addition to raising money.

My biggest challenge for both businesses has been getting out of my own way. I say that because I’m an introvert. I enjoy being in a cocoon but I had to break away from my comfort zone.

As you know, we’re big fans of Cynfully Soul Good & Divas DFW, Inc.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Divas DFW, Inc., was created to provide a non-judgemental sisterhood for young girls. The organization is an independently funded non-profit organization catering to at-risk girls in Southern Dallas. My team consists of two additional women who assist me with the program. We typically mentor about 12-15 girls, ages 4 to 18, annually. Our mission is to develop character and build self-worth, to help them identify and overcome adversities of adolescence, with a focus on building future leaders. Due to the impact of Covid 19, we’ve had to pivot and redevelop our platform. We plan to launch our new program in 2022, which will offer both in person and virtual communication, sisterhood connection, plant-based cooking sessions, social and mental health awareness. I’m most proud of this brand as I’ve come in contact with so many amazing women and other organizations. I’m proud of seeing our young ladies transition into women and watching them travel their life journey.

Cynfully Soul Good was created to help others transition to a plant focused lifestyle without compromising flavor, to encourage eating at home, as sharing a great meal with family and friends helps bring us together. What started as simply sharing meals I cooked on social media launched into a business venture, during a pandemic. Covid affected us in unfathomable ways, people lost loved ones, some are still suffering from the effects of Covid 19, but it was a blessing for me. It afforded me the opportunity to develop my brand. I’m most proud of this brand because it brings me joy hearing others say I make cooking plant-based food look easy and that my food looks and tastes amazing. I learned how to veganize meals with savory flavors.

Plant focused foods don’t have to taste like rabbit food. I consider my lifestyle to be a ratio of 80/20. Which has helped me maintain a lifestyle free of high-cholesterol and prediabetes. I enjoy trying new products and changing up what we eat so we don’t get bored. I’m proud of how it reminds me of home and my great-grandmother. I’m proud that I will be able to provide proceeds for my organization. I offer cooking workshops, private cooking events, cookbooks, transitioning support and more. I plan to introduce my new seasonings and nut-free vegan cheese sauce by the fall.

Club Cynfully will launch soon and will be a membership-driven community for people wanting to transition or incorporate more vegetables into their lifestyle. I will also offer “Personal Transitioning Experience,” a 5-week program tailored to walking my clients through the transitioning process. Limited availability.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I have a blended family of seven, which inspires me to continue building my legacy. I hope to have impacted the lives of the people that have crossed my path. I’m grateful I discovered my purpose and my passions. I dream of a day when I am serving my passions in a full-time capacity.

I’m grateful for everyone that supports my businesses and for those that motivate me. I’m grateful for every like, comment, DM, email, save or share. I’m most grateful for my partner, he has been the wind beneath my wings.

I want people to know it’s never too late to get started. Trust the process, you’ll eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t allow someone to define you or put you in a box. Be the narrator of your story.
