Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Ebomwonyi.
Daniel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born in the great city of Austin, Texas and raised its suburb, Pflugerville. Growing up I can honestly say I was one that LOVED attention. I was the kind of kid that would master any task just to show off to my peers that I’m worth being looked at. For that reason I used to play various sports, rap, create, dance, anything remotely entertaining.
When I became a sophomore in high school I joined a yearbook class with ZERO experience about photography/design. However, I witnessed an upper classmate take pictures and create jaw-dropping images with his camera. I was immediately inspired at the thought of being able to create something that other people could appreciate. After that Instance, I purchased a camera and got to work!
Two years later in May 2015, I founded Soba Pictures. An independent company focused on creating industry level content. The vision is to stand out and be authentic in all your creative endeavors.
My work has recognized by Tyra Banks, WFAA, UNT BSU and more. “I simply want to make my mark on the world while I’m here.”
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many roads to success, the road has been difficult. I come from a Nigerian household where there is so much pride in success. In my earlier stages, my parents preferred to see me be involved in a more stable career like accounting or engineering, but I’ve always known where my heart belonged. Once they started to see how my work was impacting my environment and supporting me financially. they started to support also.
Another aspect to my journey is the work aspect. I’ve always been hungry to learn more ways to express my creativity, I took design courses and always stayed up late fueling my curiosity to learn.
Tell us more about your work.
My company is named Soba Pictures and it is a graphic design/photography company. located in Dallas, Texas. We specialize in creating industry level content for our clients. Anyone who knows me could tell you that my favorite part of my work is being able to create something that other people appreciate.
What sets me apart is my drive to go above and beyond! there have been countless times I have encountered police or ran away from some time of management during a shoot to get that perfect shot.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important quality in my field is being charismatic. You’re going to meet new people every single day. these people have different moods and temperaments. it’s important that you are able to adapt to each person and remain, someone, your client can feel like they can trust and be happy with.
