Darien, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Little Pockets Denim first came about in March 2016 as a hobby turning my son’s old worn jeans into revamped and rad denim. As I progressed I realized that there was a lack of originality in kids clothing with big retail stores so I ventured into turning my hobby into a business. As I have grown, I have received some amazing support from family, friends, moms, and kiddos who have helped me grow and expand into what you see today. As I continue to grow in the industry, I hope that I can continue to grow bigger and bigger in the small shop world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some struggles I’ve faced are being able to balance my time between business and family and giving both equal amounts of time. Expenses that come with running a business has definitely been an obstacle but persistence is key right! 🙂
Please tell us about Little Pockets Denim.
With Little Pockets Denim, I create hand-distressed denim and vinyl t-shirts. I create every pair one by one with my own two hands. I specialize in creating apparel for boys and girls of all shapes, sizes, and colors that bring originality to your babe’s wardrobe. We are known for our bold and fun denim pieces whether it be our signature styles or one of a kind pieces we strive to provide the best of the best. As a company, I am most proud of all the smiles we create with denim. I can turn a boring pair of jeans into a masterpiece your child will love. What sets us apart from others is our originality and the wide range of available styles to choose from.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would change the way my business started financially. I would have a better base going in instead of jumping head first into something I thought I knew all about.
