Today we’d like to introduce you to Darren Taylor.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My entrepreneurial mindset began at the age of 7 when I started my own lawn care business. Since then, I have always had the desire to work for myself and watch the fruits of my labor grow. After high school, I entered corporate America as a Loss Mitigation Negotiator. Finding that corporate America was not enough to satisfy my true goals in becoming an entrepreneur, I started my tax business; W2 Experts. I used my bonuses that I received from my job and my tax refund. I created this company from the ground up hiring one employee during my first year in business.
My second year in business, I had five employees and business was amazing. At that point, my company was producing enough income that put me in a position to resign. I have been in business for seven years and I have not looked back.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have always been the type to prepare. Never viewed struggles as something that was negative, but viewed it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Therefore, this journey has thus far been a smooth one. Remember: Preparation is key!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Learning Spanish has always been a goal of mine to achieve. With such an abundance of Spanish speakers in the Metroplex, the ability to connect with those individuals on a different level would be a great asset towards leading W2 Experts to new heights.
