Meet Daveon Williams, Reggie Oaks and Paul Wright of iHeart Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daveon Williams, Reggie Oaks and Paul Wright.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Daveon, Reggie, and Paul. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We have all been friends for a very long time. Paul and Reggie, have known each other and been best friends since, I believe 15 or 16, and I have known them since I think I was 19 or 20. We all use to go out to the same venues and cross paths frequently in Dallas. Through the years running in some of the same circles we all bonded, and our friendships just grew from there. Prior to us going into business together, we all travel together along with some other friends of ours, and we would go to different cities for different events, and parties that we would hear about. One trip we were all having so much fun at a Day Party, and we decided we wanted to attempt to bring this type vibe back home. And that is how iHeart Dallas’ story begins.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. It is always challenging when trying to take three totally different mindsets and outlooks and bring one vision alive. We each are very headstrong and opinionated, but it has somehow worked in our benefit.

Also, being a new brand that is trying to bring something new into an established city, you always have the worry of will it be received well, are we doing the right things, how do we do this? So overcoming those internal insecurities as entrepreneurs and friends at the same time is also somewhat of a challenge.

Too, I think, we each do a very good job of keeping the others motivated when necessary. And Dallas has been nothing but amazing in the response to our events, so that cements for us that we are doing the right thing.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with iHeart Dallas – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
So iHeart Dallas provides day and evening events for the LGBTQ+ community. We specialize in Day parties. We have attempted to curate experiences for our community that we feel they would enjoy. We try and expose Dallas to our audience. Being from Dallas, it’s so easy to get burnt out on it because you’ve been here your whole life and feel that you know it like the back of your hand. We have felt that way. But Dallas is so new, there are new venues, and experiences that have come to this city that were not here say ten years ago, and we want everyone that follows us to rediscover Dallas, and fall in love with it all over again. The city is a cultural melting pot, with people from every walk of life and has so much to offer. Through our events, we hope to expose someone to something that they have never would have, whether it is a new venue, DJ, crowd of people, or part of Dallas.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Our city is so cutting edge. It’s ever changing and is daily growing to one of the “IT” cities!! I think we all agree that seeing the city grow is one of the best things ever.

What we like least? You can’t ask an organization by the name of “iHeart Dallas” what we dislike about Dallas. We just said we HEART it!! Period.
